POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Last January, I worked with Sara Cammarata on a @wired investigation into a network of male-dominated Telegram groups sharing non-consensual intimate images of women. The network was built as retaliation against the ‘Are We Dating the Same Guy’ Facebook communities. And….

@channel4 just released ‘Red Flags: Are We Dating the Same Guy?’, an Untold doc that we contributed research to, including some of the over 3,500 messages scraped from the Telegram chats.

During our investigation, what we found was pretty grim to say the least… users sharing women’s handles, locations, and intimate images, with explicit racism and misogyny running through it all. The scale of it pointed to something bigger - systemic failures across platforms, policing, and the structures that continue to fail women online and off.

AWDTSG has its controversies, and harm can move in both directions. But the fact remains - these groups wouldn’t need to exist if the systems meant to protect actually worked. Like the doc says, only 4.2% of sexual offences in the UK end with a charge.

The women’s groups were born out of protection, the Telegram groups out of retaliation. The difference in content is undeniable.

Tech companies have a lot to answer for here, with everything we documented being a clear breach of their own policies. Justice for online crimes is seven times less likely than for offline crimes.

Until that changes, women will continue to need to build their own safety networks. by @imannawolfe

I feel self-indulgent and slightly nauseated posting this, but I also feel proud ❤️ @wetwhendrypod just won’t a ‘2025 Marathon Show Award.’

Whenever I hear people talk about the “cost” of addiction on society, I think about a UK survey of people five years sober. Unlike those who recover from other chronic illnesses, those who recovered from addiction were described by researchers as “better than well,” because the majority were working full-time and 78% were also volunteering in their communities. Researchers also found that every pound spent on drug treatment pays for itself three times over. And, stateside, investment in addiction care yields similar dividends, with studies suggesting a four- to sevenfold return for every dollar put in.

If that’s what happens to those who actually get help, it makes you wonder why the system still files us under “burdens” rather than “returns on investment.” When you see addiction as a choice, it becomes politically smarter to leave services short of money, all while posing with a pint in hand on your campaign trail. And somewhere between those budget lines and those waiting lists, desperate people become business opportunities.

A fedora is never just a fedora.

@seyemusic on why he used to wear a three-piece suit every day.

(Pls note: Seye and @imannawolfe have nothing against daily three-piece suit wearing. Anna, however, maintains her stance on fedoras)

This week… we’re going there. No more hanging off the chandelier in a blackout..it's time to get intimate.

Dating sober. Regretful one-night stands. Letting go of shame. First sober sexual encounters… and yes, even prison date nights. It’s all on the table.

I’m joined by the brilliant Anna Wolfe, host of How To Get Wet When You’re Dry, who brings both lived experience and serious journalistic insight into what actually happens after we get sober, especially when it comes to relationships and sex.

We talk about the things most of us have done… but rarely unpack properly. The choices we made when alcohol was involved, the lines that got blurred, and what it looks like to navigate intimacy without it.

It’s honest, uncomfortable at times, and properly eye-opening.

And yes… I do cringe my way through parts of it.

But that’s kind of the point. Because sobriety doesn’t just change what we drink, it changes how we connect, how we communicate, and how we show up in the most vulnerable parts of our lives.

Enjoy! and you can listen to Annas podcast 'How to Get Wet When You're Dry' wherever you get your pods and this episode of Sober Awkward is linked in the story @imannawolfe @wetwhendrypod @drunkmummysobermummy by @imannawolfe

Latest one written by @imannawolfe and illustrated by @madelinehorwath all about the fun times when you have an audience for your illness.

“A teaching hospital is where you learn you’re the lesson, and it had been brought to my attention that I had Myasthenia gravis (MG), an autoimmune disorder. I saw the students reach for their pens and clipboards as the neurologist listed symptoms like “muscle weakness, drooping eyelids, paralysis, breathing difficulties and problems swallowing.” In a small percentage of MG cases, there’s also a tumor on the thymus — a gland I’d never heard of and another tick for the oddities box.“
