The First Christian Heavy Metal band from Japan!
We love 80s metal!
New album "Diary Of A Godman" on July 22th 2026✝️🔥
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The time has finally come to make it official.
This summer, Imari Tones is heading out on a USA tour.

This is an independent tour. Not a big mainstream production. Just a group of believers and rock musicians hitting the road to share music, friendship, and the love of God.

For an independent band from Japan, an overseas tour is never easy. The costs, the distance, and the challenges are all real. But thanks to your support, we're able to make it happen. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We're doing this tour for the people who have been waiting for us. For our friends. For the promises we've made to those we've said we would come and play for. And for the people around the world who need encouragement.

One of those people is our fellow musician and dear friend, Funky Sunday Party. Earlier this year, he lost Willy, the service dog who had faithfully helped him for many years. In honor of Willy, we've decided to do this tour "Willy Style."

We're going to rock one more time for Willy. We're going to prove that we can still rock for the one who has gone home to Jesus.

The idea for this tour began with a promise. We wanted to play at FireFest NW, the Christian music festival in Stevenson, Washington, for a special friend. It was something we felt we had to do.

To make that happen, we needed the help of our tour partner, Funky Sunday Party. What emerged was an ambitious journey stretching across America -from Pennsylvania all the way to Oregon.

With the help of many friends along the way, we'll travel this road together. It's a crazy adventure, but it's also a journey filled with love, friendship, faith, and rock and roll.

Somewhere along that road, we believe we'll find the love of God and the truth of rock music once again. In a world where both faith and rock seem to be fading away, we'll go looking for them -and we hope to share what we find with all of you.

We hope you'll come see us.

We'll be sharing details about each show in the coming posts, so stay tuned and check them out.

God bless you all, and see you on the road. by @imaritones

We finally update our "Biography" page on our website.
If you listen to our music, you know there is much more to it than this.
But for a short biography this is good enough👍
Please spread the word😉

Imari Tones (JP) Christian Metal | Heavy Metal | Hard Rock

Imari Tones are a Christian heavy metal band from Japan, where the majority of people believe in Buddhism and Christianity is very scarce. The band was formed in 2004 but the real start was in 2008, when they declared themselves as “The first Christian metal band from Japan”. Since then, Imari Tones have toured in and out of Japan, while making many albums independently.

The band play old school metal music inspired by bands from the 1980’s, such as Van Halen, Judas Priest, and Japanese bands like Loudness. But their music is fairly diverse and sometimes wanders into progressive territory, making it inevitable for listeners to compare them to prog bands such as Rush and YES. One of their goals is to combine Christianity and Bushido, the Samurai spirit, because they believe they can believe in Jesus Christ without losing their identity as Japanese. That’s why they play Christian music with Japanese traditional taste, which puts them in a very unique position both musically and culturally.

Imari Tones always say their role is that of a bridge. A spiritual and cultural bridge between Japan and the world. A lot of people in the world are interested in Japanese pop culture. On the other hand there are so many people in Japan who have never heard of Jesus. Imari Tones are trying to reach both groups of people. They show the world what the Japanese spirit is like, while introducing Christianity to the Japanese audience.

Imari Tones are:
Takahiro “Tone” Nakamine – Guitars/Vocals | Marie – Bass | Shinryu – Drums

A great pic of Marie!?
Sayuri, a good friend of ours and a manager of the music venue Livehouse55 @livehouse_55 (Jiyugaoka, Tokyo), made this awesome image of Marie. (Clearly using AI tools but that's okay)

It was so awesome I had to post it on our page😆

Marie rocking her bass, surrounded by her favorite charactor Sounyan! (そうにゃんの群れ!!)
She can't be happier😍

We have a show on October 17th Saturday at "Livehouse 55", Jiyugaoka, Tokyo.
This will be the last show before we take off from playing live, as we enter the "creative phase" preparing for the future.

[USA Tour Photo Collection]
We finally got all the photos organized!
For now, this will be the final post in our USA tour recap series. (I mean, for now😆)

It was truly a happy and incredibly blessed tour.
We felt God's guidance in every moment.
And throughout the entire tour, we were supported by all of you. We felt your love everywhere we went.

We did all of this for one purpose: to keep rocking with sincerity, to focus not on success but on the message, and to spread the love of Jesus Christ.
And I truly believe we were able to share that message with many people through our music.

As I went through all these photos and made these collages, I realized just how many friends we made on this tour.
We couldn't possibly include every moment.
There are also many people who couldn't make it into these photos.
But we love you all.

You may not believe this, but we have been playing as an independent band for a very long time.
So amazingly, this was actually our seventh time touring the USA as a band — even though all of our tours have been small independent tours.

(Those were in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2022, 2024 and 2026) (In 2013-2016, we focused on Japan and toured with The Extreme Tour Japan)

For our young drummer Kenshin, who is 21, this was his first tour and his first time in America.

But right now, we are feeling something really amazing.
I feel like this tour opened a new door for us as a band.

Now we are going to enter another creative phase.
We won't be playing as many live shows for a while. Instead, we want to focus on creating — on making music.

We don't know how long it will take.
But we will come back with an amazing "Christian Samurai" album.

This USA tour taught us so many things.
And now, once again, our attention is turning toward one important question:
How can we share Jesus with the people of Japan?

Please pray for Japan.
And please pray that the world will be filled with love, and that the peace of Christ will come to everyone.

Thank you, truly, truly, from the bottom of our hearts!

One of the most beautiful moments of our USA tour this summer came during the opening ceremony of FireFest NW, when Kenshin played alongside veteran drummer Bill.

Our young drummer and Bill performed together for nearly 50 minutes, creating an incredible series of improvised drum solos.
It all happened at the last minute because another drummer who was scheduled to perform could not arrive in time.

Kenshin is 21 years old, while Bill is approaching 80. Nearly 60 years separate them.
But watching this young and talented drummer play with a veteran who has spent a lifetime making music was truly beautiful.

It felt like an intimate conversation between two musicians, taking place through improvisation. Once they sat behind their drum kits, age, race, and where they came from no longer mattered.

Kenshin played with great skill, sincerity, and respect. He honored Bill as an elder and as a veteran musician.
Through his playing, he was also honoring the history and legacy of drumming, American music culture, and the beautiful nature of Washington State.

Bill answered with incredible drumming of his own. His playing carried the experience of a true veteran and gave us a sense of the long history of American music.

Japan and America.
21 and 79.
Their backgrounds were very different, but these two drummers created something wonderful together.
And that became the opening ceremony for this truly blessed Christian music festival.

Thank you, Bill.
For Kenshin, playing with you was deeply meaningful and an incredibly valuable experience.

And Kenshin, we are so proud of you.

Keep pounding those drums!!!

We have so many people to thank!
(As we get ready for our next show in Tokyo on October 17.)

Today, we want to take this opportunity to give a shout-out to our friend Jim and thank him for all his support.

We first met back in 2012, when we played "X-Fest" (now known as FireFest NW, a Christian music festival in Stevenson, Washington) for the first time.
He has been a fan and passionate supporter of our band ever since.

This summer, we toured the USA and played FireFest NW again.
And Jim wasn't just there at FireFest — he came to every show we played in Oregon!

There were so many things behind this tour. But one of the biggest reasons we decided to do it was that we wanted to make Jim happy!

Did we make him happy with this tour?
We believe we did. And we'll keep on rocking for Jesus.
For Jesus, for rock 'n' roll, and for Japan.

Last week, Jim came to Japan to visit his family, and we had a chance to see him again — this time in Japan!
It was such a happy reunion. We had a blessed time together, shared a meaningful conversation, and got to thank him in person.

Thank you so much, Jim-san!
We couldn't have made this happen without your help.

We are grateful to all our friends, fans, and supporters.
Thanks to you, we can keep on rocking!
Thank you, and God bless you all!! 😀 by @imaritones

It has already been a week since we came back to Japan.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you once again to everyone who supported our USA tour.

(These are photos from our final show of the tour at Bunk Bar in Portland, Oregon. We were so happy that we were able to play not only at Christian concerts and festivals, but also at a regular music venue and become part of the local music scene.)

First of all, I want to thank all the people who supported us in so many different ways.

When we started planning this tour at the beginning of this year, there was a huge financial risk involved.

At first, we thought it would be possible and made our plans accordingly. But as you know, war broke out, and gas prices went through the roof.

Life in Japan is not always easy, either. Japan is a good country, but it is not always kind to musicians who step outside the normal path of society.
We lost our jobs, took on a lot of financial risk, and still had to make this tour happen.

But God was faithful.
So many people supported us.

This was a crazy journey, driving all the way from Pennsylvania to Oregon, but amazingly, we didn't have to spend a single dollar on lodging.
That was because kind people in different places opened their homes and gave us places to stay.
We honestly don't know how to thank you enough.

The time we spent with all those people became one of the greatest blessings of this tour.

And all of our shows were successful.
(Well, we are excellent musicians, after all! 😄)

Over three and a half weeks, we played a total of nine shows.

Every single one of them was a blessing, and I believe we were able to give our best performances everywhere we went.

There were even some unexpected moments. At one show, the PA system suddenly lost power in the middle of our performance.
But even that became a blessing.
We were still able to deliver our message to the audience.

As musicians, we believe our mission is to put the love of God into our music, deliver a message of love, and bring happiness to people.

Back in Japan! (photo taken at Haneda airport, Tokyo)

After coming back home, we gathered once again at our church (Asao Christ Church) and prayed together with Pastor Yabe (Wave Of Grace ministry). That was the conclusion of this tour! (We prayed so hard we forgot to take photo at the church😜)

What a great tour it was!
We met so many great people.
We received so much support.
And we definitely felt God's guidance in every moment.

We made so many friends.
We touched so many lives.
I'm sure we brought blessings to every town we visited.
But that's not us.
It was all God.
It's all about Jesus.
That's the reason we rock!

We saw so many things.
We learned so much.
God gave us the vision for the future.

Right now, I can't write all the things.
So many people we should give thanks to.
So many blessings we can't write them all in a social media post.

But we will tell you all the stories.
We will say thanks to everyone.

For now, THANK YOU JESUS!!!

Thank you very much to all of you.
God bless you all!!!

Our show at Bunk Bar, Portland Oregon, was something unforgettable.

We can never forget the beautiful night of Portland.

"Sometimes people judge you because you're different. But in God's eyes every person is precious"

We had different kinds of music, different kinds of people, different kinds of beliefs.
Yet everyone was accepted. There was this undeniable sense of unity. It was because of our love for music.

It's impossible to explain. But that's the beauty of music. Meeyan Punch, BAE, and Funky Sunday Party, they were equally awesome.

It was a blessing for us to share our message of love with beautiful people of Portland.

Setlist
Sep 10 Bunk Bar
1. Faith Rider
2. Precious
3. Karma Flower
4. Redemption
5. Dying Prophet
6. Love Is

Now we are at the airport, waiting for the airplane to fly back to Japan.
The tour is almost over.
Let me just say we touched so many lives, while we were touched by God.

Thank you very much for your support.
Thank you Jesus. taken in Bunk Bar by @imaritones

Our show in Veneta Oregon, The Extreme Tour event at the skatepark, was something special and unforgettable.

Even though our performance was cut off when the power generator ran out of gas during the 2nd song, we felt so much love, support and blessing.

The message was there.
Everything is God's guidance.
The message of the 2nd song, turned out to be the last song of the night, lingers on forever.
We are "Not of This World" because we belong in Heaven.

It was also a message from God.
We didn't get to play the whole set.
This means we are coming back.
We are coming back. To Veneta Oregon, to The Extreme Tour. To this awesome country America.

(Kenshin's samurai sword performance at the beginning of the show was awesome and everyone went wild. That already made the show unforgettable😉)
