The best symbols are designed to say more with less.

The Juneteenth flag is a powerful example. Its creator, Ben Haith, created a masterpiece of visual storytelling.

The central star represents Texas, where the last enslaved people learned they were free. The burst around it is a nova, symbolizing a new star and a new beginning. The red, white, and blue color palette is a deliberate statement that the formerly enslaved and their descendants are, and always have been, American.

Happy Juneteenth. IMC will be closed on Friday, June 19th, as we honor and celebrate this historic day of freedom.
