To be clear, I never got the audition, but I figured I’d see if I could. So…a nod to all the auditions I never got 😎
(thanks @jackierhoads for the nudge)

I wanted to audition for conversation with friends and couldn’t get called in. Here’s what I did instead.

Loved Normal People. Read the book.

Later heard friends were auditioning for Conversations with Friends.

Because of timing, momentum slow, yadda yadda, I wasn’t able to get considered to submit for a great role. (Nick.)

So I made it an exercise.
Read the book again. Took notes.
Wrote some sides from the text.
Worked with @dialects_now on an Irish accent using that material.
Shot 3 of them with @oonaroche .

Tried to get them in front of casting @louisekielycasting @kscasts — long shot, but worth the go

It went how it went. Had a ball doing the work.

Happy to put this kind of care (and chutzpah) in when I’m excited to play.

Now… what’s next? — thoughts welcome by @imcronin

Sis, you’re my best friend. You show up for me and everyone in your life in ways that can not be repaid. You do it because you want to and it brings you joy and you ask for nothing in return. Words like beautiful, smart, loyal, driven, hysterical and buoyant, while true, can’t capture what it’s like to be around you. I’m grateful you’re in my life and proud to look up to my younger sister. Be still and Keep moving, this tiny rock revolving around that dying star is 😉. Don’t wait for permission to be you. I love you. Happiest of Birthdays. taken in Los Angeles, California by @imcronin
