Reuben has been with #IMDA since day one (even before we were an entity called IMDA). And he’s taking us back to where it all began. 👀 For Reuben Wong, Senior Manager in Infocomm Resource & Networks, one memory that still stands out is being part of the team behind Singapore’s Nationwide Broadband Network — helping to lay the groundwork for faster, more affordable fibre connectivity for people and businesses across Singapore. 📶 Much of the work happened behind the scenes, long before its full impact could be seen. Because sometimes, shaping what comes next means building for it before the need becomes clear. At IMDA’s 10th anniversary, Reuben looks back at the projects, people and moments that have stayed with him along the way. Press play and let Reuben take it from here. ▶️ #IMDA #IMDA10 #IMDigitalArchitect #OneIMDA by @imdasg
What does it take to get job-ready today? In a conversation with Singapore Computer Society, Chief Executive of IMDA @ngcherpong shares what an AI-shaped future means for those entering the workforce, and how young graduates can prepare for what’s ahead. The opportunities are real. According to IMDA's Singapore Digital Economy Report 2026, demand for tech employment is strongest outside the tech industry, with non-I&C sectors leading growth at 5.3%. AI is for everyone – including our seniors! 👴👵 At the Digital for Life: Digital Club at Whampoa Community Club, I was heartened to see seniors enthusiastically picking up new digital skills. One participant said it best: AI isn’t difficult to learn, as long as you approach it with an open mind. 🤖💪 Singapore is digital-first, not digital-only. Learning together as a community can help our seniors build the confidence to navigate the digital space safely. ➡️ Find a Digital Club near you today: go.gov.sg/dfl-digital-clubs #AIForAll #DigitalforLife #DigitalClub #SmartNationSG by @imdasg

📲 It's on the app store, so it must be safe… right? 👀 Not always! App stores aren't just places to download apps. They can also be the gateway to harmful or age-inappropriate content. That's why IMDA introduced the Code of Practice for Online Safety - App Distribution Services (ADS Code) in Mar 2025 to better protect users. Since then, our first Online Safety Assessment Report for Designated App Distribution Services (D-ADSs) found that all five D-ADSs have safety measures in place, including age checks to help prevent users under 18 from downloading 18+ apps. ✅ However, we also found gaps. Some apps with harmful content were available for download, while some apps containing 18+ content were wrongly rated as suitable for younger users. ⚠️ The app stores have since taken steps to address these gaps. We will continue to work with them to help keep users like you safe. 💡 You can play a part too! Take steps such as checking app age ratings and reviews, and reporting and removing inappropriate apps to help protect yourself and your loved ones. 👉 Swipe through to see what we found and send this to your friends and family to help them stay safe online! Delighted to host President @tharman.sg at the @digitalforlife.sg Festival at VivoCity today, together with MOS @rahayumahzam . I was heartened to see Singaporeans of all ages coming together to learn and explore. 🌟 This year’s festival has a strong focus on online safety, and we shared several important updates: 1️⃣ First Online Safety Assessment Report on Designated App Stores Singapore is one of the first in the world to regulate app stores for online safety. @imdasg ’s inaugural report found that while the five designated app stores have age assurance and safety measures largely in place, there is room to do more to ensure apps are age-rated appropriately and to promptly remove apps containing harmful content. We have engaged the app stores, which have committed to addressing these gaps. 2️⃣ Strong public support for tiered access to social media Earlier this year, we engaged over 2,000 parents and youths, and the message was clear. Over 80% of parents and nearly 70% of youths support a tiered approach to social media access, with no access for children under 13 years old and stronger safeguards for those aged 13 to 17. Rather than shutting our teenagers off from social media, our goal is to help them develop the judgement and skills to navigate the digital world safely. We intend to introduce legislation in early 2027 to require platforms to implement these safeguards. 3️⃣ Building healthy digital habits from the start Regulation alone is not enough. IMDA is working with preschools to incorporate online safety into the curriculum — the earlier we start, the stronger the foundation. The pilot began with over 100 children from E-Bridge Pre-School, reaching close to 3,000 more children from December 2026 and has been rolled out to 800 children from Skool4Kidz Pre-School in September 2026. Online safety is a shared responsibility. Through the national Screen Smart from the Start movement, we are also helping families build healthy digital habits with practical resources and support. With close to 130 partners from the public, private and people sectors participating in this year’s Digital for Life Festival, there is something for everyone. by @imdasg
