It’s still hard to put in words how I feel about this experience but they’re all synonyms of “grateful”, “exciting”, “fun”, and “honor.”

This is such an important project specifically in this uncertain time in history and as many questions as this film draws up and leaves us with, I really hope we take the time ruminate on what we would have liked the answers to have been. I really hope everyone watches, listens and digests this film.

As amazing as it is to be involved in a story of this importance, getting to work alongside such a great cast, such a thorough crew, to the in life professionals that ensured accuracy down to the minute detail, and of course the legendary Kathryn Bigelow, was of equal magnitude. It was really a well oiled machine that made such a beautiful finish.

I couldn’t say thank you enough but I am going to keep trying! So thanks again. The PA’s, the cooks, the crew, my boy Stanley on the hair, and big shoutout to CD @susudahl !

This week we would’ve been moving in together but two weeks ago we had to bury you because one month ago today somebody took you from us.

My heart will break for you every single day for the rest of my life. I’ll never accept this or be okay with it, even though it is reality. I have to say goodbye to the future with you that doesn’t exist anymore and learn how to live in a world without you in it.

I love you so so much. You believed in miracles. Even with how we grew up and all you’ve been thru, you never let the world change you or your heart and I genuinely do not know how because you’ve really been thru it bro lol like the stories actually sound made up 😭

It’s been nice learning about my brother thru other’s experiences with him. I’m glad he was the man I thought he was, not just to me, but to everyone else as well.

You inspire me so much bro. Im so damn proud of you. You are a true artist and I really hope one day I can walk in my authenticity as me the way you did as you. Sorry (not really) if I ever pushed you a lil too hard, I just believe in you and love you that much 🤷🏽‍♂️

You were just in NY and wasn’t even supposed to leave I just wish I could’ve made you stay and keep you close to me like I always wanted. But now I get to take you with me wherever I go, and talk to you whenever I want I guess. So sorry in advance cuz I’m going to be VERY needy and annoying but I need you bro so oh well🤣🤷🏽‍♂️

My family and I for the September issue of American Vogue Magazine.

This is truly an honor.

Words can’t express how grateful we are for this, especially with the year that our family has had, specifically due to one of the issues I spoke in the article.

I wish my late little brothers, Darrion and De’Aire and my late little sister, Destini, were still here to experience this with us. Shooting for the biggest magazine in the world, in our hometown of Detroit, on the street that we grew up on., with all my brothers and sisters and mother and father. Still doesn’t even sound real 😅

Thank you you to everyone involved in making this happen. Everyone at Vogue, my agents at Next, especially JP, Stef and her amazing team and a special thank you to Camila, Michael and Stef for making my family feel so comfortable and having nothing less than respect for us and my late grandmother’s home.

Such a great project that I’m just humbled to be apart of. You have my heart.

After hearing the story of Daejon Love, I’ve been nothing less than motivated and inspired to follow in his footsteps and forgo the NBA to join the NFL.
