The other day I had posted a book I’m reading on real estate and someone DM’d me saying that it was a basic book and I wouldn’t learn much

In the past I probably would’ve felt some type of way, but it got me excited because I’m fine with being a beginner.

It doesn’t bother me that I don’t know much about real estate right now because what I do know is that I’m one of the most consistent and patient people I know. I also know that when I’m interested in something I’ll ask the most questions because I don’t care how it comes across. I’m just trying to learn as much as I can with the least amount of mistakes

I know that there is an effect for every cause and if I stay consistent for 2-3 years I’ll end up where I want to be.

If there’s one thing I could tell my younger self:

I would tell myself be patient. Keep learning. Keep the hunger/ambition. “You can’t see it now, but everything you’re doing today will come to fruition tomorrow.”

Maaaan, I was going through some old photos/videos, old goals, etc

When I was looking back I’ve pretty much smashed all of those goals. Set new goals and heading towards new heights. It’s been giving me motivation to be consistent and trust the process today to see what’s to come tomorrow 🙏🏼 taken in Denver, Colorado by @imevanjenkins

I used to be so busy being busy I didn’t have time to be productive 🥴

I needed to get the laundry done, read my books, meditate, make food, etc.

Don’t get me wrong those are all important but it was taking me away from focusing on ways to grow my businesses, talking to clients, grow my skillsets, and grow the bottom line

All I’ve ever wanted was freedom

Freedom to do what I want, when I want, who I want, and how I want to 🤞🏼

If you spend all your time working for money that it gets in the way of family, friends, and overall life I would consider that a failure

You’ll only get to the place you see in your head when you’re fed up with where you are now

Eventually you have to come to a decision if you’re okay with settling with where you are now or making drastic changes to get to where you want to go

Stop doing too many things at one time. Have you ever tried putting socks on with wet feet? It’s like trying to do everything and nothing at the same time

Focus on one thing and become the best at it

25 years around the sun today 🤞🏼

It’s crazy how time flies. Quarter of a century old has me feeling some type of way. Been thinking of everything going on and I thought it would be cool to share 5 things I wish I would’ve learned sooner for those coming up

1. Think long-term: It doesn’t matter what we accomplish in 1-3 years, it matters where we are headed in 20, 30, and 40 years from now. Make decisions that have your best interest long-term

2. Invest: This doesn’t necessarily need to be monetary related. I wish I would’ve invested more into knowledge and skillsets to set me up for success down the road.

3. Take Action: The truth is you’re going to suck at first. The beautiful thing is that repetition creates our reputation. Learn to be okay with sucking at first having the mindset that the longer you do something you will become more equipped to become a master. Action leads to insight. Take action without having everything figured out

4. Create Life Principles: These are the building blocks and our foundation of everything we stand for. When we clearly state what principles we have it is easy to fall back to them and get back into a state of flow

5. Don’t take life so seriously: I used to beat myself up when I wouldn’t get everything on my to-do list completed. I was watching Netflix when I could’ve been reading, hanging out with friends when I could’ve been working on my business, etc. I learned to appreciate that every day is a new opportunity and I’m grateful to see another day 💯 taken in Denver, Colorado by @imevanjenkins

One skill I think everyone should learn is to say “no” to more people 🤦🏼‍♂️

I struggle with this from time to time and it’s something I constantly work on. By saying yes to one thing you are essentially saying no to 1,000 other things. Taking on that new business venture, going out with friends, watching Netflix, etc

One of the best books I ever read was “The One Thing” and it really opened my eyes to focus on one thing and only one thing until it gets done

Getting started with business credit is a simple process and there is a lot of good information on YouTube to start this process as well

You will need an LLC or S-Corp to start off. You can set this up in about 10 minutes if you go through your Secretary of State. If you have a few LLCs or businesses already you can talk with an attorney to figure out the best strategy to set this up.

After the LLC is set up you’ll need your EIN, which is essentially your social security number for your business. You can go to irs.gov to get this after the business is set up

The business bureaus won’t consider your business a real business until your business bank account is set up. Once you get your EIN it’s best to go to the bank you to business with and they will ask if you want to open a credit card with your new bank account
