🖌️Milka, acquerello su carta 100% cotone.

🐶 Milka, la mia piccolina, quando era una cucciolotta di un chilo e poco più 🥰
Dolce, vivace, allegra, affettuosissima, socievole e sorellina di una meravigliosa gatta… Un raggio di sole ☀️
Arrivata all’improvviso nei primi giorni di un gennaio di tre anni fa, ci ha risvegliati da un freddo inverno: un dono dal cielo venuto a rallegrare le nostre vite.
Le gioie più grandi sono fatte di cose piccole e semplici, come avere un piccolo cuoricino che batte accanto al mio 💞.

🐶 Milka, my sweet dog, when she was a puppy weighing just over a kilo 🥹.
Sweet, lively, cheerful, very affectionate, sociable and sister to a wonderful cat... a real ray of sunshine ☀️.
She arrived unexpectedly in the early days of January three years ago, waking us up from a cold winter: a gift from heaven who came to brighten up our lives.
The greatest joys are made up of small and simple things, like having a little heart beating next to mine 💞.

🦔🫐🎀 My magical and whimsical world, full of charming little creatures, lace, embroidery, polka dots and vintage dresses. A place where all creatures could live inside a vanilla-flavoured persimmon adorned with flowers, berries and fruit, and illuminated by the pollen of a fragrant flower. 🌸🪻🌰💖

🎂 Tanti auguri, Apollo. 🌸

Approfitto per postare un ritratto fatto un mesetto fa. Tutto è partito da una foto di un golden retriever sorridente immerso nel verde, di un account che seguo, @dimoradicampagna

Ho scelto carta in cotone fatta a mano, dai bordi vivi e irregolari. Ho disegnato a mano libera, senza griglia — per conferire maggiore spontaneità.

Ed ecco che l’acquerello comincia a prendere vita. Poi un fiore rosa e un rametto di lavanda...

Oggi Apollo compie sei anni. Questo ritratto è il mio modo di celebrarlo. 🌿 🐕

🎂 Happy birthday, Apollo.

I take this opportunity to share a portrait I made about a month ago. It all started with a photo of a smiling golden retriever surrounded by green, from an account I follow, @dimoradicampagna

I chose handmade cotton paper, with its raw, irregular edges. I drew freehand, without a grid — to bring more spontaneity to the work.

And here the watercolor begins to come alive. Then a pink rose and a sprig of lavender...

Today Apollo turns six. This portrait is my way of wishing him well. 🌿 🐶 taken in Puglia, Italy by @imichelai

🦜✨ Ho visto questa splendida creatura in un negozio di animali.

Non riuscivo a smettere di ammirarne i colori, il suo sguardo dolce, l’incredibile presenza. Eppure, ho provato sentimenti contrastanti…. Un essere così selvaggio e magnifico in gabbia…

Mi ha fatto pensare a qualcosa tratto da The Fifth Agreement di Don Miguel Ruiz e Don Jose Ruiz — qualcosa in cui credo profondamente: al livello più profondo del nostro essere, non esiste alcuna gerarchia tra noi e gli altri esseri con cui condividiamo questo mondo. Un essere umano, un cane, una pulce, una mosca, un fiore: veniamo tutti dallo stesso luogo.

Dice anche che non importa se siamo cristiani, buddisti, musulmani o induisti. Veniamo dallo stesso luogo e tutti torneremo nello stesso luogo.

A volte la bellezza ci affascina.
Eppure, se guardiamo un po’ più in profondità, può portarci a riflettere…

🎨 Processo di pittura in Photoshop.

Quando dipingo in digitale, utilizzo gli stessi strumenti e lo stesso processo che userei nella pittura tradizionale: schizzo, costruzione del colore, dettagli… passo dopo passo.

Perché no, non lascio che sia il programma a fare il lavoro al posto mio. 🤭

🇬🇧 I saw this beautiful creature in a pet shop.

I couldn’t stop admiring its colours, its sweet gaze, its incredible presence. And yet, I had mixed feelings. Such a wild, magnificent being behind a cage…

It reminded me of something from The Fifth Agreement by Don Miguel Ruiz and Don Jose Ruiz — something I deeply believe in: at the deepest level of our being, there is no hierarchy between us and the other beings we share this world with. A human, a dog, a fly, a flower — we all come from the same place.

It also says that it doesn’t matter whether we are Christian, Buddhist, Muslim or Hindu. We come from the same place, and we are all going back to the same place.

Sometimes beauty fascinates us.
And yet, if we look a little deeper, it invites to reflect...

🎨 Painting process in Photoshop.

When I paint digitally, I use the same tools and process I would use traditionally: sketching, blocking in, building colour, adding details… step by step.

Because no, I don’t let the program do the work for me. 🤭

Partendo da uno schizzo, questa volta con il metodo della griglia… e poi piano piano il gattino comincia a prendere vita.
Poi arrivano i dettagli, un po’ di contrasto… ed ecco 🐱
