26 years later… back where it all started! 🏫✨

Yesterday, I walked through the halls of my old high school, and the nostalgia hit hard. After starting my freshman year at Newtown, I had the incredible opportunity to move over to the High School of Arts & Business for sophomore through senior year—proudly graduating as a pioneer member of the very first class back in 2000! 🎓🔥

It was so surreal stepping back into those hallways. Back in my day, the building literally had zero windows. It gave off slight prison vibes 😅, but honestly? I hold that nostalgia deep in my heart—it built character and molded our generation into resilient adults. Fast forward to today, and the second floor is packed with huge, beautiful windows. Mind = blown! 🤯

The school has grown so much overall, and I’m honored to be part of the 30th Anniversary Committee to celebrate where we’ve been and where we’re going next.

📸 P.S. Here’s a photo of me playing student in Miss Controveros’s dance classroom today. Fun fact: I actually never took a single dance class when I went here! 😂💃

Also the music added is because of the movie BILLY MADISON featuring Adam Sandler. Ain’t nothing like a good school comedy movie. by @imjonjon

Update: I’m getting DISCHARGED!

As I get ready to be discharged from the hospital, I want to sincerely thank everyone for the messages, prayers, calls, and well wishes. Your support has meant so much to me and my family during this time.

I’m grateful to share that the surgery went well and there were no complications. I’m now focused on resting, healing, and taking things one day at a time. Recovery is expected to take a few weeks, and I’ll be following up with my surgeon in two weeks to make sure everything is progressing as planned.

Thank you again to everyone who reached out, checked in, and kept me in your thoughts and prayers. I’m truly appreciative of all the love and support, and I’m looking forward to getting stronger each day.

Lastly, let’s go Knicks 💙🧡💙🧡💙 by @imjonjon

A little update from me. 🙏🏽

This video was recorded shortly after I came out of surgery, and to be completely honest, I was still pretty heavily medicated and have absolutely no memory of what I said. 😅

What I do know is that the surgery went well, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. The doctors were able to successfully remove approximately 5% of my left kidney, and everything went according to plan.

The last few months have come with a lot of appointments, scans, questions, uncertainty, and prayers. Going into surgery can be scary, but I was blessed to have an amazing medical team, supportive family and friends, and everyone who checked in, sent messages, and kept me in their prayers.

Recovery is now the main focus. While I’m a little sore and moving slower than usual, I’m thankful to be on the other side of the procedure. The expectation is that I should make a full recovery over the next several weeks, and I’m looking forward to getting back to normal one day at a time.

This experience has been a reminder not to take our health for granted and to appreciate every day we’re given. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered encouragement, and shown love throughout this journey. Your support means more than you know.

Here’s to healing, recovery, and brighter days ahead. ❤️🙏🏽

I attended a Peace Forum at the United Nation a couple weeks back. When it comes to PEACE, it’s only given when it’s lead by a FULL HEART containing a MOTHER’S LOVE who’s gentle, kind, loving, leading, understanding and compassionate to nurture a foundation of care. I’m happy to be apart of those who encourages love beyond the definition itself. by @imjonjon

With the Stranger Things series closed. Here’s some fandom activities in the city back in November 2021. So what did everyone think of the series. Wish Barb lasted longer in the series. by @imjonjon

Graduated from the High School for Arts & Business in the Year 2000 and planned this event super short notice but will be running it back on the first Sunday of August 2026 back at Pig Beach.

I’m the committee organizer of the event and will be pushing hard for a HSAB reunion in 2026 for all grads.

If I forgot to tag you on this group photo, let me know.

Stay turned everyone for future event updates. by @imjonjon
