Hey Monday, I approach you like that person. You know the one that I have to talk to but that I'm always anticipating the worst exchanges, and then afterwards, I'm pleasantly surprised that 'it wasn't that bad'. Sometimes, I replay the day and say that was actually a good day. Could it be that my dread to meet you is the catalyst -- the foundation -- of our negative interactions? Is it possible that my preconceived mood, attitudes, and beliefs, which I've carried through a history of Mondays, has caused my discomfort with you? You, Monday, are disregarded and unappreciated as something to endure, to get through. But is it possible, my friend, that you are merely matching my unwarranted frustrations, expectations, and assumptions? I can see now that you are merely meeting me where I am; you are mirroring how I feel inside. All this time, Monday, I thought it was you. All these years, I've scripted you as the worst, long-winded, aggravating character of this play I call 'The Week'. Today that stops! If it is my energy that you reflect and are inspired by, I choose to embrace you as a new possibility for great things and I can't wait to see what WE do together, my new old friend. by @imjp41
