Happiness is not thinking you have earned the world’s approval, but waking up each day and feeling so at peace within yourself, embracing the day ahead, unconcerned with how you are perceived.

I walked away from the noise, the rush, the pressure…and chose a life that actually feels like mine.

Now I’m building a plant sanctuary in the middle of Zanzibar with my partner.

Sun on my skin, soil on my hands, peace in my chest.

Big moves. Big risks.

And honestly? The best decision I’ve ever made.

Here’s to breaking the rules they never had the courage to question.

If you’re craving a life that feels like YOU — follow along. Let’s rebel softly together.

Proof that little beginnings can grow into something beautiful. 🌿

Sometimes you get so caught up in the everyday that you forget to stop and look at how far you’ve actually come.

From those early days of slowly building Zanzi Green Rebels to seeing the shop today, filled with plants, customers, conversations and so many familiar faces… it honestly makes us incredibly grateful.

There’s still so much we want to create, grow and experience here in Zanzibar.

And this is only the beginning. 🌿

Currently listening to: sunshine, waves & absolutely nothing else.

I want more days that feel like this.

Nothing extraordinary.
Nothing to prove.

Just a day that feels good to be living.

So here I am, on another solo visa run.

We had found some great tickets and were meant to be heading to Seychelles together for a few days.

But my Zanzibar visa situation meant that wasn’t possible this time.

So here I am, on another solo visa run.

I guess this is one of those less glamorous parts of building a life together when the life you’re creating has to fit around visa rules, borders and paperwork. Sometimes you make plans together, and then you have to change them because the rules say so.

It’s not always easy, and it’s certainly not always how we imagined it would be. But I suppose this is also part of doing life together… figuring it out, adapting, and making it work anyway.

Flying over Mnemba on my way out, thinking about the life we’re building here and all the places we’ll still go together.

There’s something about the ordinary moments.

The ones you don’t plan or photograph perfectly.

You’re just there, together, doing life… and suddenly you realise how much you love the life you’re living.

Maybe one day I’ll look back and realize I was brave enough to chase the life I truly wanted… and it worked. 🤍

For now, I’m just here living it -> one ordinary, beautiful day at a time.

When the island finally delivers the good stuff… you celebrate accordingly.

Baby cucumbers I’ve been waiting for, baby tomatoes that were actually good (a rare win here 😂), and sourdough toasted until perfectly crunchy.

Throw it all together with a simple salad and suddenly… five-star dining experience. 👌🏼

It’s funny how the little things feel like such a luxury when you live on an island. ✨

There was a time when this was just an idea we talked about.

Now we get to walk through it every day. 🌿

Still building, still learning, still figuring it all out -> but this little dream of ours is real.

And that feels pretty special.

Honestly, I take my morning meetings very seriously around here.

Coffee, fresh mandazi, a little sunshine and absolutely no reason to rush anywhere.

I think I may have finally mastered the art of showing up for the important things.

Less than 10 minutes from home to our little green corner. 🌿

The real Zanzibar, along the way.
