We talk a lot about “foundational” work in the wellness space and during 1:1 work with clients. What does foundational work mean to you?

For me personally & in my practice, the foundations are everything:

A foundation is the element of a structure which connects it to the ground. A foundation is mandatory in order for you to build UPON. A foundation is a necessary base that supports everything else above it. A foundation needs to be solid, without cracks or injury.

In my opinion, “foundations” in regards to health, need mastery level understanding and integration before moving onto other wellness practices. One thing I really love about foundational work with my clients is that most of the recommendations are free but are often the things we have the most resistance to!

I’m all for detox protocols, fancy supplements, and fun gadgets that enhance our performance but we get all too caught up in the shiny stuff that one or more of these pillars fall to the wayside. They are all equally important and need proper attention and nurturing.

I’m currently working on the Community piece 🤝❤️ I am a social butterfly and I finally feel like this pillar is getting the full support it needs for my optimal well-being

Bio-energetic testing has taught me to truly think outside of the box and see the person in front of me as a whole being. This modality offers a new perspective; looking at the complexities of our healing by connecting the dots beyond symptoms. It acknowledges the importance of establishing balance between the physical and the emotional as one is not more important than the other. 🌀

Bio-energetic testing brought so much clarity to my life when I was struggling to find answers in my own healing. I was chasing symptoms and pathogens and while that is part of my story, there was so much underneath that this testing helped bring to the surface. I feel incredibly grateful to offer this service to others and show how multi-faceted healing really is. 🤍

The Emotional Terrain Scan ✨
This is truly my favorite part of the testing process.

It offers insight into the emotional and energetic patterns that may be influencing physical health, often in ways we don’t immediately recognize.

This scan acknowledges the mind-body connection and brings awareness to the emotional stressors that may be contributing to physical ailments like chronic gut issues, rashes, pain, thyroid dysfunction and more.

This scan is vital to the bio-energetic testing experience so we can begin to unravel layers of suppression from ourselves, our parents, our grandparents and beyond.

It’s worth noting that not all signatures that resonate point to dysfunction. We are also made up of joy, gratitude, intelligence, and innate wisdom. Let’s not forget the resilience within us too! 🌟

In my opinion, the Emotional Terrain Scan is where we often find insight that helps everything else begin to shift. I’ve had some of the most powerful conversations with clients reviewing their emotional signatures 🩷 many tears and many “that makes sense!”. There can also be markers that resonate that we don’t always have answers for - and that’s ok too.

Curious what your Emotional Terrain might reveal?

Send me a message or book a discovery call - I’d love to explore this with you.

True story 😂

Sometimes the best form of therapy is to throw a tantrum about it. Messy. Wild. Primal. Child like. By yourself if that’s accessible in a healthy way or with a compassionate witness to hold you. The bliss on the other side is quite tasty if you give yourself permission to go there! 💥

Listen I know feeling your feelings can be painful, confusing, and scary. It makes sense why we avoid them and pretend they aren’t there. But you’ve heard me say it before… what you resist, persists. Thankfully, you can build up a tolerance to experience the wide spectrum of emotions this life has guaranteed us (yeah, no one is immune to grief). Our bodies KNOW how to metabolize emotions and sensations. It takes the body an average of 90 seconds to move through a feeling if you identify, label, and accept it. It requires you to let the feeling exist and observe it rather than shoving it down. Easier said than done I get it!

As a society, we’ve become so damn allergic to discomfort and that’s come at a great cost. You can choose to stay the same and pretend like you’re “healed”, but how is that working out for you?

Doing this work helps you befriend the parts of you that you’ve been trying to fix or deny, when in actuality they were created to protect you. In my opinion, one of the best bridges to a deeper relationship with yourself is to welcome all the exiled parts of you, because to deny them is to deny YOU. Welcome the judgmental critic, the escapist, the terrified, the hardened bitch, the abandoned child.

The practices I suggested above help create more safety in your system with time and practice. Use the feelings wheel & adjective list to better name what you’re experiencing and bring more clarity. I purposely didn’t include deeper cathartic practices like throwing a tantrum, punching, kicking, etc. While those are some of my favorite somatic tools, when we’re just getting started sometimes those can be too activating and uncontained for some. But you know yourself better than I do, so fuck around and find out ! 😛

If you’re curious to chat more about this, DM me or schedule a discovery call to explore how this work may benefit your unique needs 🫶🏻

Somatic work is a gateway to create corrective experience and literallyyy change the programming that has kept you fighting, running, paralyzed, reactive, and disconnected from your body altogether.

We don’t try and fix. We don’t erase stress and trauma, we get to know it in a way the BODY can finally process. This is done through slow and steady moments that allow your system to do what it already knows how to do… metabolize, adapt, and grow stronger as a result. The hard part is choosing to continue to show up for yourself, over and over and over. This isn’t a “one time session I’m healed” sort of thing. It’s choosing the long scenic road. But I promise it’s worth it!

The time is now to befriend your trauma. Your experiences have so much to teach you 💌

Comment IMMERSE and I will send you my custom booking link 🫶🏻

An intro to Somatics… the missing piece in both my personal and professional life 🧩🌀🪞

I realize this post has many limitations - entire books are written on stress, trauma, and therapeutic modalities. Take this as a little snack for now.

This post is hugely inspired by the work of Dr Peter Levine, Dr Bessel van der Kolk, Dr Gabor Maté, Stacy Matulis, and Britt Piper.

WHEW. RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU’RE ANGRY. 😤 I’m calling this “State of the World Somatics”. Let’s yell, punch & stomp about it 📢‼️ safely and non violently bc we are grown adults that take radical responsibility for our emotional health so we can show up with as much capacity to support our communities, clients, and loved ones 💥

These somatic movements are simple, but SO powerful for releasing stored tension. Stop “thinking it away,” and start letting it move through you. You can’t mess it up, just follow your body’s lead and take what resonates:

🌀 Spinal flexion: melts tension + warms up the body
🦁 Lion’s breath: clears stuck emotion + activates your voice
🔥 Breath of Fire: energizes the body, clears stagnant energy, boosts circulation, and helps move stress out quickly
✊ Fists of anger: or fists of FURY; gives anger permission to surface so you can feel it fully and integrate
🖐️ 🗣️ Hand scream: releases charge and supports regulation. One of my personal fave practices
✨ Energetic full body cleanse: As I swish off energy from the perimeter of my body, I recite: I call the energy that is mine back into the space of my body. I release all energy that is not mine back to the earth
🐾 Primal shaking: helps discharge built-up stress hormones and regulate the nervous system by completing the “fight/flight” cycle. Another fave
💗 Back bend: opens the heart, gives space for grief to surface; releases tight shoulders and upper back
⚡️ Tight ball contraction → slow release: completes stress cycles + signals “you’re safe”. Making a shape, holding, then releasing is becoming another favorite
🥊 Fist pounding: moves frustration and anger safely
🦵 Single leg shakes: discharges stress hormones + calms the body fast
👣⚡️ Stomping: so good for grounding + releasing; helps move stuck energy & emotion, activates the legs + root chakra
👀 Orienting: before & after a practice, activate all your senses by taking in the colors, textures, shapes, etc around your space. This creates a safe container for your body to express freely

You don’t need to be “more healed.”
You might just need to let your body finish what it started 🌀

Taking responsibility for your emotions so you don’t walk around being an asshole 🤭

No but seriously! Make time for yourself to breathe and move. Invite your pain, it’s time to make friends with everything you’ve suppressed ❤️‍🔥

WHAT YOU RESIST, PERSISTS

Get to know your sensations. Start describing them:

I feel tingles in my toes like icicles
I feel warmth in my chest and now feel the urge to contract my spine
I feel anger in my throat and it wants to yell

Whatever comes up is EXACTLY RIGHT.

Trust yourself, trust your body. You’re just observing and that’s harmless right?

It feels bizarre at first! Let it be weird and uncomfortable!

Be ok with feeling numb or out of touch (that’s been huge for me). It’s a practice - bring in your grace and allow the process to be what it is.

I know I avoided this work for sooooo long. It’s like I knew it would be this simple but was so addicted to my stories I really thought I could use my mind to feel and figure it all out. Surprise you can’t ;)

Your body is an instrument! Go explore what it sounds like 🎵🗣️🎤📣🔊

You don’t have to wait until Spring to bloom 🩷

Most years around this time I just want to hibernate. DND for the foreseeable future. Just get through the holidays. But this December? I feel a pull to create and keep evolving, just not quite ready to pump the brakes.

I’ve been doing the work - the healing, shedding, rebuilding. You’d think I would be tired and ready for rest but the fire of becoming HER is lit. And I’m not dimming it. I’m stoking the flame. Why would I ignore an inner knowing this loud?

As this most challenging year of my life winds down, I’m choosing to believe there are still glimmers waiting to be found and experienced. I’m searching for them everywhere, turning up my presence and observation.

I’ve been calling on my angels for guidance, surrendering daily in a new devotional practice, deepening my connection to Source, and journaling as if my dreams are already mine. And honestly? It feels like magic. ✨

But this inner trusting work is HARD and my skeptic part still whispers doubt. So I asked for a sign.

The very next day — November 12 — our first rose bloomed. 🌹
Roses hold deep meaning for me, so that felt like an answered prayer… a soft nudge to keep trusting.

Yesterday, I stopped to admire how wildly our rose bush has grown. Bigger than I remember. Fuller than last year (thank you rain). And then I noticed the date — December 12. Exactly one month apart.

From one tiny bloom to a full, overflowing bush.
Living proof that growth doesn’t wait for perfect timing and neither do we. If it feels true, that’s exactly right.

How silly of me to forget that nature still creates life in the winter! I needed that validation to keep going, and maybe you do too 💌

A snapshot of my 20-30 min daily sadhana, or spiritual regulation practice. How have I not adopted these practices sooner?! How many of your friends or practitioners have mentioned stillness and breath work and yet you still don’t do it? 🙋‍♀️ now that I feel the difference on the days that I practice and don’t practice, it’s become a non negotiable in my routine.

My practice involves a combination of things that allow me to be PRESENT, REGULATED and FLEXIBLE throughout my day. As a space holder, and curious human that wants to move through the world with less sticky energy, I absolutely need these practices to show up clear and capable.

In this snapshot you’ll see I’m activating the senses, orienting (or “arriving”) in my space [I accidentally deleted that clip 🤭], pulling cards to tap into divine intention, breath, sound, contracting & releasing, shaking, hand screaming (so good esp if you have others or animals in your space), intentional movement, and one of my faves - a containment hug.

It may feel foreign to watch someone in their process. That’s ok, all new things can feel weird or scary. I invite you to try a practice on for size, maybe a hand scream or 5 minutes of intentional breathing. Your system might go HI WOW THANK YOU FOR REMEMBERING ME!!!

If you feel called, share what came up for you watching this. Confusion? Intrigue? Motivation? Judgment? I’m so curious to hear.

Lots more of this somatic adventure coming as I continue to share all that I’m learning and practicing 🩷
