🪞 Bainne & Sticky 🪞

Non-art post to celebrate our two rescues, Bainne ~ 𝘣𝘰𝘩𝘯-𝘺𝘢𝘩 ~ Irish for milk, the moustachioed lady, and Sticky, whose government name is Frigg but she was eventually redubbed for her sticky toe beans.

After Buffy died we wanted to rescue, specifically an older bonded pair. These two came from a bad housing situation, an apartment of nearly 50 cats in Wicklow. Their rescue vet who spayed them determined B&S themselves had up to 4 litters each in their lifetimes!

The original owner started collecting exotic or “pedigree” breeds several years ago, including Russian Blues, Siamese, Ragdolls, and Oriental Shorthairs. None were neutered and were outdoors so, it got out of control. She gave away kittens for free (not good!), and kept those that older cats bonded with. I don’t know further info about this owner other than she was devastated to have them removed, but the youngest cats (1-2 years) and kittens had no litter training and the majority had eye infections so bad that many needed them surgically removed. I can only imagine this woman was suffering and animals suffered in turn.

B&S were rescued and then fostered in Dublin so we got the chance to meet and eventually adopt them August 2023. They lowkey saved us from the abyss, we love them so so much 🖤 they live a life of luxury now. I WILL have art of them soon 🌝

They’re not sisters or mother/daughter but are related, born about a year apart sometime between ‘20-‘21.

🥛 Bainne’s hobbies include yowling, tripping humans, snuggles, sleeping on humans and 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 human faces, making the best biscuits in town, annoying Sticky, being incredibly bad at cat things, and strings.
🐾 Sticky likes Bobby (my partner), all the food, sleeping, judging public citizens from windowledges, hunting balls, catching balls like Babe Ruth, and parading with said balls whilst singing the song of her people.

Buffy
2013-2023

I have not been active the last few months as I lost a beautiful thing.

Buffy was euthanised 30/06/2023,

“Euthanasia”, eu - good, thanatos - death. The Good Death.

Making that decision for you was the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do, when we knew, despite it all, your stubborn little ass woulda stuck it out given the choice. We thought we had so much more time, but I guess no amount would have ever been enough.

I’m not spiritual but I hope you’re with us still. We’ve had “signs”, I still think the signs are patterns and coincidences that my heart wants to believe is you. Maybe it is you.

We love you forever, sweet bean.

Buffy Anne Puggers aka Chief Chickens. The only girl in a litter of 5; named “Black Star” ✨🌑✨; born to Rexxy Golden Boy and Molly Twinkle, a proper country gal.

Daughter of Imo & Bob x
