my texture map for @anecdotesmagazine !!!

i’m going to be doing a few posts on this one just because i really love it

i went quite abstract and just played around a lot with creating new lines and shapes through overlaps, unlikely colouring pairings, just trying to make an interesting scene

i hope you all enjoy watching my draw all these lines- as psychotic as it sounds, i actually really enjoyed the process and seeing what came out from layering and coming up with shape combinations by @imogenlewisdesign

some experimentation with line and colour 🖌️

right now, i’m fascinated by the overlapping of colour, line, and shape, creating these interesting pockets of contrast and texture and playing a lot with colour theory <3

more on this coming soon! i thought the video (see my reels section) of me creating this was quite satisfying/ interesting, you can see how i started to refine the composition, taking elements and seeing if they work better elsewhere, with different patterns or thicknesses, creating the best combinations towards the end of the process!! by @imogenlewisdesign

Random art inspo in the wild!! (swipe please)

1. the cutest coffee shaped postcards from @julietfrobisher , love the cut out shapes and postcard creativity ☕️
2. this beautiful faded blue vintage sign in bath, one of my favourite cities! 💙
3. the cat wall in bristol, so cute with the bright block colours 🐈
4. gorgeous postcards from @samgxmes !! the stamps were also stunning, great linoprint inspo 🌸
5. the bristol light festival, featuring @hannah.borrill , amazing how cabot circus car park was brought to life by clever lighting ⭐️
6. the balloon festival- it felt so dystopian with the balloons being so close to the ground! 🎈

Too often, people think of hobbies and creative endeavours as a means to be productive.

DON’T!!!

It’s so important to create just because you can, because you have the time, the talent, and the humanity to do it 🖌️ I’ve done countless shit drawings over the year, failed ideas, materials gone wrong; you’re just building a more resilient creative toolbox 🧰

summer flowers !! 🌺🌷🌼🌻

more on this theme soon 🙂‍↕️ i loved drawing these and then turning them into a summer postcard/ pattern, also looking to make some stickers too which would be very cute

i think flowers and nature are such an integral part of summer, so i wanted to make a fun print that captured this energy! by @imogenlewisdesign

its welsh wednesday 😍

here’s an illustration i did a while back for st david’s day! i would love to make these into st david’s day cards- for those of you who don’t know, st david’s day is our patron saint’s day which is celebrated on march 1st (a bit like st george’s day but lots better 😋)

i wanted to add in some unique welsh features, like all our gorgeous castles, daffodils, welsh writing, and all the dragons that fly around!

i’d love to start doing illustrations of countries i’ve visited- maybe i will start a summer holiday series 🛫☀️🕶️ by @imogenlewisdesign
