Literacy has never been just about reading and writing. It’s about understanding and using what’s in front of you. Literacy skills shape how we navigate the world in more ways says than we realize. And that’s why access to education when learning matters. To borrow the words used by Cybtracy Digital Literacy & Sustainability Initiative, literacy is a human right. #literacy by @impactbydolapo

Seeing the World Literacy Day conversation occur online earlier this month made me go looking for the numbers beyond the hashtag. So, I made this video to remind anyone who cares to listen that literacy is more than a trend or a day. It’s a global issue that affects people’s access to education, opportunities, and so much more. So, here are some numbers worth paying attention to. #literacy #education by @impactbydolapo

A few weeks ago, I was introduced to the story of an 11-year old boy with a very simple dream: to become an engineer. The boy’s name is Dominion. I came to know about Dominion through the World Literacy Foundation Youth Ambassador Programme @worldliteracyfoundationyouth @worldliteracy_foundation where he was assigned to me as my fundraising profile. I didn’t know him before this, but reading about his dreams and the circumstances that could make staying in school difficult made his story stay with me. Like many children his age, Dominion has dreams for his future. But sometimes, having a dream is not enough. A child also needs the opportunity to keep learning. That’s why I’m raising $350 (about 470,000 naira) to support Dominion for an entire academic year, helping with his school fees, learning materials, and educational needs. I believe that if 200 people give ₦2,000 each to the fundraiser, together we can bring Dominion one step closer to his dream of becoming an engineer. I deeply believe that Dominion’s future is worth investing in. If you can, please donate. If you can’t, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can❤️ Donation link is in my bio. #WorldLiteracyFoundation #literacyforall #fundraisingforacause by @impactbydolapo
