The work draws a parallel to the Earth and its ecosystems, which sustain human life and bear the consequences of human actions. Its wooden surface is layered with lotus petals from ritual sites, each showing signs of folding, compression, and use. Once used in prayer, the lotuses now remain as material traces in the physical world. Preserving them does not restore their original state; instead, it suspends them between being offerings and decaying.

When prayer ends, the offerings do not disappear; they change state and continue to exist in the world we share. The remaining empty space may represent both what is still available to receive these traces and a warning of limits that are not clearly visible.

Sacrifice traces the origins of devotional offerings to a period when faith involved the sacrifice of living beings. As compassion and nonviolence became more prominent, flowers—especially red ones—replaced the body, symbolizing blood and sacrifice. This shift shows that while offerings evolve with society, the human desire to connect with the sacred consistently takes material form.

After Faith delves into the spiritual landscapes of worshippers while also uncovering the tangible realities that support faith. Born from research in Pak Khlong Talat and a partnership with Yodpiman Flower Market, the exhibition gathers over 70 percent of its materials from flowers and remnants left behind in the market’s daily rhythm. Through creative experimentation, these cast-off materials are reimagined, reshaped, and infused with fresh significance.

Remnants do not signal the end of worth. Instead, they capture a moment of transformation, as objects shed their symbolic purpose and return to their material state, ready to decompose, be managed as waste, or nourish the ecosystem. Devotional offerings persist beyond the ritual, continuing to shape the world and gather new meanings. The exhibition urges us to consider not just what we offer, but how our offerings endure, what impact they leave behind, and how we might take responsibility for the traces of faith we set in motion.

Supatporn Posoknistakul’s debut solo exhibition opens this Sunday!

Supatporn Posoknistakul (b. 1993, Bangkok) holds a degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Chulalongkorn University. Informed by her background in the spiritual branding industry and consumer culture, she has established an artistic practice that translates these experiences into contemporary art. Initially focused on painting and subsequently expanding into multidisciplinary approaches, her work investigates belief as a cultural phenomenon that shapes interactions among individuals, objects, and society.

Since 2025, She has been exhibited regularly, beginning with the Colorverse Exhibition x Amifoto at Union Co Art Space and Chidlom Art Week: Harvest of Hues at Central Chidlom, organized in collaboration with Art Atmos in Bangkok, as well as Treasure Discovered 2025 at De Siam Warehouse in Chiang Mai. In 2026, she participated in KOSMOS: Between Spirit and Matter at Weave Artisan, in collaboration with Asian Art Century, in Chiang Mai; the Mango Art Festival at River City Bangkok; and the group exhibition DEVA STREET with Street Star Gallery at CentralWorld in Bangkok. These exhibitions demonstrate the progression of her practice from painting and design to multidisciplinary contemporary art, uniting themes of belief, consumer culture, and social experience.
