Last day of August, and I’m thinking about a conversation from last week.

A client came to me without a plan. That’s not a criticism, it’s most people. They knew they wanted to build something. They just didn’t know what the first move looked like.

So we spent a day mapping it out. What have you got, what can you service, what does this need to look like in ten years for you to stop working.

Then a building came up through the network. Off market, eight units, income already running through it. Nothing you’d find on a portal.

They walked in with no plan. They’re now looking at multiple assets with multiple income streams inside a year. 🤑📈

Their money didn’t change. What changed was clarity, a deal they’d never have seen alone, and someone helping them structure it.

There are sixteen weeks between tomorrow and Christmas. Roughly how long a purchase takes. Something you start this fortnight, you own this year. Something you start in November, you talk about in February.

Getting through the summer holidays?! 🙈

Work squeezed into the gaps, and me trying to be properly present with the boys rather than half there with a laptop open. If you have been juggling the same thing, you will know it is not an easy balance to get right, and I am not going to pretend I have got it right every day. The last photo sums up the craziness my boys give me! #lovethemtobits

With the heatwave, everyone has been outside more than usual this summer. Fewer screens, more actually being somewhere. It got me thinking about something people have said to me over the years, in one form or another: the online courses and the webinars are useful, but nothing beats standing in front of the thing and going through it properly, face to face, with people who have done it.

So that is what we are doing on Friday 18 September, once everyone is back into the swing of things.

A Beyond Bricks Site Immersion Day on a live development in Oxfordshire. Hard hats on, walking the scheme while it is mid build, then sitting down with the team actually delivering it. Programme, costs, contractors, planning, the problems and how they solved them. The questions you cannot really ask from a webinar.

Ten places only, because that is the practical limit on a working site. Half day, hosted lunch with the group, and a follow up one to one with me in the weeks after.

Last night I sat in a parents evening for my son Finley’s first term at secondary school.

I was not quite sure what to expect. But what I got was something that genuinely moved me.

Teacher after teacher talked about a young man who asks questions. Who thinks deeply. Who challenges ideas and is not afraid to speak up in the room. One even mentioned that when he does speak up, what comes out is considered and well thought through. The depth of thinking is there even in the quieter moments.

As a parent, hearing that is everything.

On my way home I kept thinking about something else entirely.

What made that environment so powerful was not just Finley. It was the people around him. The teachers who believe in their students. The community of young people all pushing each other forward. The structure that gives everyone a clear direction and the support to move along it.

And it struck me that this is exactly what most adults are missing when it comes to their finances and their futures.

Not intelligence. Not ambition. Not even the desire to do something different.

Just the right room. The right people. And someone in the corner saying I see what you are capable of and here is how to get there. I have certainly been searching and found some great people to support in more recent months.

That is what we are building with Beyond Bricks.

A day and a community for people who are ready to ask the questions, think deeply about their future, and take the kind of action that actually changes things. Whether that is through property, business, or simply getting around people who inspire you to move.

Our next Beyond Bricks event is in Oxfordshire on 7th May and 11th June in London and with more dates being set later this year, now is the time to get in the room and the mission to bring inspired speakers to share and add value on your journey.

2025 tested me more than I realised at the time.

There were highs and lows across deals, projects, and life - and one big lesson for me was this: not every deal can be fixed, and not every project can be solved. Sometimes the win is knowing when to reset, refocus, and move forward.

As we step into 2026, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported me through it all: my strategic partners, investors (thank you for the patience and belief), clients, my wider business community, and of course my family and loved ones. I’m genuinely forever grateful.

A big personal moment last year was my dad having a stroke towards the end of 2025. It’s made me even more intentional about time and especially family time.

And one of my daily reminders sits in my office: a little note from my youngest son, Theo (he’s five) that says “I luv my dad”. That kind of motivation hits differently.

Three reminders I’m taking into 2026:

✅Mindset daily (even 5–10 mins each morning)
✅Protect your health & wellbeing
✅Protect your time + stillness (your best ideas live there)

This year is about Restore, Rebuild & Refresh. Get things back on track, growing, having fun on the journey — and helping my network grow too by connecting great people and supporting others across different businesses.

With AI moving fast, I’m also noticing something: people are craving more real connection, not more noise and not just AI bots. Part of my mission this year is to help create more of that with some great people in the community.
Wishing you an abundant, intentional 2026.
