My first post on instagram, so here goes…🫣

Tonight, my debut feature film, Ish, has its UK premiere at @londonfilmfestival and I couldn’t be prouder to share it with a home crowd!

Ish has been a crazy ride so far, taking us from a magical summer on set in Luton to our world premiere at @settimana_della_critica at Venice Film Festival a year later! I’m honoured to say that we won the Audience Award while we were there and got some stellar reviews along the way, all of which feels very special indeed.

Eternal thanks to the producers, financiers, cast and crew that helped make this film a reality. I never thought I’d get to do anything like this and it has been the privilege of a lifetime making Ish with you all.

So please come join us tonight to celebrate!

🎥 SO! Four very special guests had Mark Kermode (@kermodedodge) & the audience cracking up tonight at MK3D!

So…. What happened?

🌟 Of course absolute chaos ensued when MK3D regular and Mark’s buddy Jason Isaacs (@therealjasonisaacs) stepped onto the stage following Mark spotting him on the telly in the royal box at Wimbledon 🎾😂 Naturally, his charismatic energy dominated NFT1 & he had some bloody great stories to share!

🌟 Ed Sayers (@edinstacam) shared the marvels of working with super 8 and the magic it creates on screen as he discussed his upcoming film SUPER NATURE, as well as films yet to be released, made on 16mm, 35mm, you get the drift…. What we saw of SUPER NATURE was absolutely stunning on the screen and I cannot wait for this incredibly beautiful film.

🌟 Imran Peretta (@imranperretta) chatted to Mark about his upcoming film ISH, his inspirations, and the wonderful experience of working with non-professional actors (as well as defending the wonderful Luton!). He shared his inspirational film RATCATCHER, which is a film I absolutely love.

🌟 Sian Clifford (@siansstillspace) joined Mark on stage to discuss her upcoming absurd comedy mockumentary LADY, which looks absolutely hilarious! Ever the natural comedian, she had the audience in tears of laughter - every snap I took of her had both her and Mark laughing! This was such a delightful segment and I’m so looking forward to seeing the film.

NEW EPISODE: For the 22nd of our Sessions, Juliet talks to film director, visual artist and composer @imranperretta about his debut feature film Ish (2025), released in the UK and Ireland on 31 July, as well as his short film the destructors (2020) and his installation A Riot in Three Acts, first exhibited at @somersethouse in 2024. They talked about how the works were shaped by Thatcherism and neoliberalism, the War on Terror and the genocide in Gaza, institutional racism and police profiling, as well as how the works combine formal experimentation with deeply personal narratives, bringing in cinematic influences such as Abbas Kiarostami, Steve McQueen and Cristian Mungiu.
