LISA - ROCKSTAR M/V REMAKE

Directed, Produced, Filmed, Edited by: @imsallyem
Starring: @leyapleya / @leyatopia

From Sally:
It’s amazing how much a small spark of an idea can bloom into a full blown production! Although there are many regrets of what I could have/should have done, it’s the journey and the growth that matters and fun with friends along the way. If you’re staring at a blank canvas right now, just start painting regardless if you know how to paint or not! 🎨

From Leya:
It’s the art of building community, growing through creative challenges, and learning about yourself. I wasn’t sure if I could find the confidence for ROCKSTAR, but Miss Sally and I pushed through the discomfort. Seeing it all come together reminded me that sharing this artistry is a blessing and to start things you’re afraid to do. 👩‍🎤

#maverick4thwin @ 2022 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival World Finals in Seoul

It’s been almost a whole month since @prismkru arrived in Korea for the K-Pop Cover Dance Festival. 🫣 We were one out of three 1st placing teams alongside Team Philippines @untilweage and Team Thailand @thesquaddancecrew! AND the 1st USA team to take home a trophy! 🏆(cry)

To be able to represent the USA at the “Olympics” of K-Pop seriously, wow… SO COOL, never would I have imagined I could be doing this. (Not us being world champions…) 😭

-Forever grateful to the KCDF staff for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
-Forever grateful to my Prism Kru family for working our ASSES off for this.
-Forever grateful to the new friends we have made during our journey.
-Forever grateful to the friends and family at home that have been supporting us.
-Forever grateful to be strong and healthy.
-Forever grateful for the phrase everyone kept saying the entire week: “Keep Dancing”

From my first time dancing in my basement almost 12 years ago to now… enjoy my K-Pop dance journey to the final destination of Korea. 🤎 taken in Seoul, Korea by @imsallyem

This is for the ones who are still trying to reach their dreams.

Life is one heck of a rollercoaster. I am having to constantly remind myself that success is not a destination, it’s a journey. And the journey to this moment really takes a village:

Thank you to all my dancers, we freaking did it. You know how much I’m grateful for you all: @camille.joycee @ann.kayla_ @jeraldineisi @rorowena_ @celestial.pia @sal.le @sammy_hz @jaelyn.silk @evierino @jordy_bird @mayonnaisek12 @alexandriabanez @__lauren_christine__ @misty_v1

Thank you @joan.gwak @shoujohnson @tori.luc @andynotsim for coming to watch my set and provide feedback and give me so much words of encouragement.

Thank you @kweenwiddak for helping me make my backing track and giving me tips and tricks to make my performance even better.

Thank you @gkohfilms @moswaroot for always being down to film my performances.

Thank you @edolala for providing me with rehearsal space always.

Thank you for your support and kind words Midwest K-Pop community <3

Congrats to @chemicalxcrew for 2nd place and congrats to @helixxcrew for 3rd place. You guys have been so kind to me.

Thank you @mkdcofficial and @kaachicago for hosting this event! And also @mkdcofficial for your helpful feedback for my submission.

This one is for the girls. 👩🏻👯‍♀️👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩

Praying that my next destination will be Korea to represent the USA this year! 🐥 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @imsallyem

Day 2 of learning how to produce and write music!

Featuring the electric guitar I bought 18 years ago at my local Best Buy 😝🎸

Do I know the key of this song? No.
Do I know the guitar chords I played? No!
We’ll figure it out as time goes on…

“How It’s Done” ACAPELLA

This has been the hardest song I’ve ever covered, from the amount of tracks to hitting an A5. Enjoy!

Trying voice acting for the first time! Which character do you think I fit the best? Personally, I think the demon characters… 🙊 And yes, all the voices for all characters is done by me!

Also, I think this is the longest I’ve worked on a cover. There’s about 100 tracks in my session file 👍
