Excuse the fuzzy video… It serves a purpose. My bro @bigtweet33 went live while I was singing with the praise team in Flint (2019). Before Jersey was even in my plans (Jersey was actually never *MY* plan… But God).

It’s 2025: Cleaning my phone and decided this would be a good time to post this. Allow me to re-introduce myself, or introduce myself to the people who don’t know me. Don’t let the open mics fool you. THIS 👏🏾 IS 👏🏾 ME. To the bone. A worshipper. Born and raised Apostolic Pentecostal… we run, buck, dance and shout… but that’s not even important or focal. It’s just to give you context to the video, it’s not abnormal. It’s RARE that I do that, but when I do… best believe I tried to hold it in as long as I could. I’m very quiet and reserved. I said that to say, with everything in me…. I love Jesus. I’ll never be quiet about it or ashamed.

Purpose- Since I moved to Jersey, I was looking for a church. I MISSED (and still do miss) singing in church. I just couldn’t find the right one. And still haven’t. It wasn’t until I got so fed up with NOT singing that I started the open mics, singing my original music. Contradiction just so happened to be the one song I wrote (I have many) that doesn’t have a deeper spiritual meaning. But the song is spiritual (long story). And from there, opportunities opened up for plays and musicals. But my heart will always be HERE. Worship. And despite what you may hear me sing (It will NEVER involve cussing or anything crazy), my life and the use of my gift is for the glory of God. And to the best of my ability I try to live a lifestyle pleasing to God. Perfect? Never, I don’t even need to say it. But at the end of it all… like the video, the goal is for people not to see ME clearly, but Jesus.

Grateful then. Grateful now. Forever grateful.

Which by the way, Lynnette Rae is both my parents’ middle names together. My Mom (a preacher) is the more spiritual one. Dad (also a preacher) was the music lover/musician with the big personality and didn’t play games. I’m a perfect 50% mix of both. I love Jesus and people, but don’t play with me 😇

I woke up in the middle of the night and @maestrojbyrd (RIP) was heavy on my mind, so I went to his FB. I found some old videos. This was from our church’s 95th anniversary in 2017 with me leading “We Win” by Vincent Bohanan. I didn’t know this video even existed lol.

I miss my church. I miss these people. I thank God for these times. Also, for my roots and my background. I’ve been singing in choirs since I could talk lol. And wouldn’t have any other way.
