Hey friends! If you’re newish here and happened to miss the last 10 years of my life... this sums it up perfectly. So happy you’re here with me. 🎬: @stephgrantstudios @megan_irl @ej.mccartney by @imsteph

Can you believe that in 2013, when a wedding I photographed went viral, I almost took the entire blog post down?! 81,000 people were on my site in 1 day and there I was almost getting rid of the entire story with one click of a button. I constantly find myself wanting to revert back to my old ways of blending in and staying silent. I quickly shake that off and remind myself of the importance of speaking up about the things that matter. The reaction of the community and from people around the world helped push me forward. Your stories are OUR stories. Your stories have helped create mine. I am so thankful for you all! Check my story for a little shout out to my couples. #ADecadeofConnection by @imsteph

“If there is one trans kid in Arkansas who follows me then this is for you. No one is leaving you behind and there is a massive community of people who want you as their friend and teammate and coworker and neighbor exactly as who you say you are. The state of Arkansas can’t stop you from being trans. We’ve been here. Access to medical care is your right.” - @jamesdoinginsta by @imsteph

I absolutely love how this misty day of waterfall adventuring w/ Chels & Nance played out. We lucked out with an uncrowded waterfall mostly to ourselves and any passersby squealed with delight offering small celebrations everywhere we ventured. Very much grateful to the Portland queer community and their thirst for adventure. Endlessly thankful for ALL of the queer weddings I have gotten to photograph over the years but the ones that involve some backroads & nature sniffing are it for me. To any LGBTQ+ couples looking to elope, propose or throw a micro wedding in the Portland, OR area in 2027…I welcome you with open arms and space in my pockets to hold wedding rings. I will also twist myself into unimaginable shapes to get the shot. 🌈🌲 by @imsteph

Thankful to have this moment stopped in time. Surrounded by the tall trees in a sea of strangers closing out summer.🌲On my left a shoeless group of friends w/ painted faces doing handstands. To my right a couple snuggled close on their blanket. Fingers lost in her curls. I sat still in the middle of it all. 📷: David Kabra by @imsteph

I am proud to share this story with you all.

The story behind the Black, queer artists who traveled from Portland, OR to D.C. to document the events of Trump’s inauguration weekend.

What @meaghanonfilm & @analogdanica have shared with us is a deeply important body of work— a reminder that photographers and filmmakers carry a responsibility to document the moments of our time, tangible scenes and emotions that will be studied years from now.

Here are some images from my view of the MADD D.C. opening night in January 2026 — exactly one year after the inauguration — I feel so lucky to have witnessed a project so crucial come to fruition. It was an honor to be there with them and to watch the audience’s reactions to their film. There was an incredible turnout for the screening…lucky us that they’ve decided to host a final screening tomorrow 02.07.26 before they close their exhibition. Whoa what a day! Everyone doing ok?! I’m sitting on an airplane next to a woman with a Trump mask on whilst sending some love to these wonderful women. I love your love. Happy 5 year wedding anniversary and decade together, friends! 🌈 by @imsteph

I think of my couples often. Not just on Valentine’s Day when everything is love & mush. I think of you celebrating your 1st anniversary. I think of you when your sweet pet passes away or when you lose a parent. I replay moments I was lucky enough to capture of the people you love most. I don’t take that lightly. You’re on my mind when you decide to part ways or divorce. You will always be with me and although we may not connect often you have impacted my world. Sending love to you wherever you’re at in life.🖤 #valetinesday #queerwedding by @imsteph

I’m a sucker for wedding guests getting extra sappy & sweet when they think no one is watching. Trust I’m always lingering in nearby shrubbery watching for those moments. ;) by @imsteph

I’ll be out with my camera tonight 7pm Dallas City Hall. If you’ll be down that way let me know and please stay safe & aware, friends. 🖤 by @imsteph
