🌸🌻1 MONTH OF SENESCENCE by @imtearsxjoy 🌹🌷Three years ago, with my dear friends Ravi, David, Josie, and TJ, we set out to create a project of music that could capture the feelings, fears, and wonders of growing up in New York City - transforming the spirit of our beloved home, a jungle, into a concrete garden. A garden where any flower can grow from a crack in the sidewalk. While TJ and David created a world and its characters - Ravi, Josie, and I took the seeds of the music and grew it into a full online web series EPISODES OUT NOW ON YT and social media campaign. It’s been a joy Producing with this team. From our first demos three years ago to now, and every studio session in between, I’m so proud of this music. Limited by budget, equipment, and access we built an entire world thanks to a wonderful community! Thank you to everyone who showed up to photo shoots, danced in music videos, and joined our production crew - we have been so wealthy in support at each step of the way. There’s a truth in this music that is embedded in the same streets we cherish and this is living proof. 2 years ago I brought my friends together to shoot a visual ep about growth, mental health, and sense of self. I eventually chose to call it ‘senescence’ because I felt like the word perfectly articulated what I was feeling at the time. I worked on this body of work for so long to where what you’re seeing was shot 2 years ago in 2024. the learning curve was LONG. but necessary to heal from everything I poured into it. so if you’re reading this, just keep going. whatever you’re doing will work out exactly how it’s supposed to. I’ve come to realize senescence is a feeling. an experience that you feel and also for me, the feeling that I experienced while making this body of work. I wanted to zoom in on some of the moments that mirror the feelings of aging and decay that I grew out of through the making of this thing. but the truth is a lot of these are metaphorical and so very up to your own interpretation so let them mean whatever they mean to you but yeah these are some more moments from ‘Alone in a room full of friends’ , the second part of the visual EP. thanks again to the director and designer of this work @ravivietro and to @oscyausborn for helping with the production side of things.
