some people just have it, that easy, open energy that makes everyone around them feel welcome. you don't have to know someone's whole story to feel the warmth they bring into a room.

we're always inspired by people who show up this genuinely, this openly, with nothing held back. the world could use a lot more of that kind of energy.

we love people who let themselves feel this much in front of everyone. it's rare, and it's contagious, and honestly it makes us want to throw our own arms open too. tag this person pls?

there's something about people who commit fully to showing up as their most imaginative selves. no holding back, no apologizing for taking up space in something wonderful.

it takes a kind of courage to be this open, this playful, this unmistakably yourselves. we're a little in awe of everyone who shows up like this.

there's a particular kind of joy that only shows up before you learn to be self-conscious about it. full-body, unfiltered, gone as quickly as it arrived.

childhood keeps that joy on tap. ours is mostly memory now, but being near it again, even for an afternoon, is its own kind of gift.

and for one bright moment that whole row of people was simply happy together.

joy like this is contagious. it begins with one laugh and travels all the way down the line.

hold close the people who make you laugh like this.

Someone points, and everyone looks up.

What did you see first at Iceland Eclipse?

Quiet is part of a festival too, and there was plenty of it.

Where did you find yours?

Leanne @ayaharmony held the quiet and the whole field stayed in it with her.

If you were lying out there with your eyes closed, tell us what you heard. We're still thinking about it.

Some of the best moments on Snaefellsnes had nothing to do with the sky.

Who did you hold onto out there?

Cloud over the sun, one thin bright sliver, and two hands lifted toward it.

3,333 Eclipse Seekers came to Snaefellsnes for two minutes and seven seconds of totality. Some watched. Some reached.

Tell us what you reached for.

Nobody here is checking the time. You can feel it just looking at them, the way everyone has settled into the grass like the afternoon could go on as long as it wanted to.

The dome up on the ridge, the sea somewhere behind it, a few thousand people sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers who didn't feel like strangers by day two. We keep coming back to this one. It's the part of Iceland Eclipse that's hardest to explain to anyone who wasn't sitting in that field with us.

If you were here, tell us where you were sitting. We're still not quite over it.

That is all totality hands you, and somehow it is both the shortest and the longest stretch of the whole festival. 3,333+ people in one Icelandic field, every face turned the same way at the same second.

Tell us where you were standing when the light went.
