Things I love about you… the way your blue eyes look when you first open them, the way you feel like home no matter where we are, and how you have showed me what it feels like to feel safe… now Uchu gets to grow up knowing that too. The way you bring me coffee every morning, I feel it… It’s such a small act, but it never feels small to me. The way you hold me through everything, endo flares, therapy days, all of it, bringing me an ice pack or heating pad before I even ask, somehow knowing my body better than I do. The way I can trust you fully… how safe that makes me feel. You’ve never made me work for your love, it’s always been easy, steady. And somehow you always make me feel beautiful, even at my worst. Ten years of creating, loving, and building MOM together… all the quiet work no one sees, side by side… my favorite place to be. I’m the luckiest girl to have you as my partner and my collaborator. The way you love Uchu, the way you love me, how strong and grounded you are. Lately I’ve been feeling how deep this love really goes… how much I miss you when you’re gone, how even a song can take my breath away. They say that feeling is grief, which is kind of beautiful… it just means I love you that much. What an honor it’s been to truly live these last ten years by your side… it doesn’t even feel like ten.
