POSTS STORIES REELS
Your job is what you do. Your side quest is what makes you you. Our crew is now ready to go, with side quests ranging from stand up, ceramic sculptures, public speaking, neuroscience, making music, a travel documentary and a business! Yours could be something else entirely. Through Side quest, we bring our focus back to a project that means something to us. Whether it's stalled, in progress, or hasn't started, we figure out a plan together and then keep each other going. For the next 2 weeks only, spots are open. If you'd like to join our crew, we'd love to have you ๐ŸŒฑ Come to our next kickoff to see what it's about. Link in bio โœจ๏ธ by @in_the_grain
Got a project you keep putting off? Side Quest is a small crew of people who each have one thing they want to make happen outside of work. We plan it together, then keep each other honest. Stalled, half done or not started yet, all welcome. Our current crew is working on stand up, ceramics, music, public speaking, neuroscience, a travel doc and a business. Very different projects, same problem: life gets busy and the thing you care about gets pushed back. Next kickoff is coming up this Sunday 10am at Surry hills and spots close in 1 week. Alright, NOW we're getting real ๐Ÿ‘€ I'm Jing, co-founder of Grain, but today I'd rather you meet me through my side quest: doing stand up. I've always wanted to do it. The jokes have been sitting in my notes for a while, and I'm finally taking them somewhere bigger. Tomorrow I'm committing to my goal of getting up on a bigger stage, and I'd love for you to join me with your own. Side Quest Saturday, 24 October | 10 AM Bourke St Bakery, Surry Hills What's the thing you've always wanted to try? #Grain #SideQuest by @in_the_grain
"If you want to go fast, walk alone. If you want to go far, walk together" - A wise walker๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ This Saturday as I pick my Side Quest back up, I invite you to come join me with your own :) 24 October @10 AM Outside Bourke St Bakery, Surry Hills RSVP link in bio โœจ๏ธ What is your side quest? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ by @in_the_grain
Ever left a big event with a bunch of new Instagram follows, and no one you'd actually call? Research shows conversations naturally split once more than four people are involved, so deep connection in a big group is almost impossible. And when we meet someone new, our brains take shortcuts. We form first impressions within seconds, then reach for the same safe questions: where are you from, what do you do, do you come here often? A few quick answers, a few assumptions, and we move on. Yet research also shows we consistently underestimate how much strangers enjoy going deeper. Which means the person next to you is probably waiting for the same thing you are: someone to ask the real questions. Come and ask it with us. October, but make it meaningful ๐ŸŒฑ Five ways to be heard, understood and gently challenged this month, alongside people who are there for the same reason. Weekday walks start 6:10 pm Weekend sessions start 10:00 am With an exception for In Sync, which starts at 5:00 pm so we can catch that spectacular Sydney sunset! ๐ŸŒž RSVP links for each event in bio โœจ๏ธ by @in_the_grain
This October, we're back in the city with a new round of walks and conversations. Grain brings together curious, open minded people who like to keep evolving and want more than small talk. Each session centres on something that matters, like a decision you're weighing, a goal you're chasing or an idea you can't let go of. Card prompts and games guide the conversation somewhere honest, and you'll talk it through with new people along the way. Expect to see things from angles you hadn't considered, and to leave feeling like someone finally gets it. We believe growing is easier alongside people who are growing too, and it's how life starts to feel more fulfilling ๐ŸŒฑ Swipe to see our line up this month ๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ RSVP links in Bio HOT TAKE & TEA Youโ€™ve definitely got a hot take, and we want to hear it! Through thoughtfully designed card prompts, we'll break down hot takes on life, love, career and everything in between. There are no wrong answers, and the point isn't to win. It's to see each take from every angle, have fun, and land somewhere with real substance. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Saturday, 10 October | 10 am to 12 pm ๐Ÿ“ Meet outside Bourke Street Bakery, Surry Hills ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ RSVP link in Bio NO REGRETS Our dreams, side quests, goals, relationships. How many of them are quietly slipping down the list because we're not making them a priority? And will they turn into regrets one day? On this walk, we'll use card prompts to figure out what truly matters to us, and whether others feel the same. We'll talk it through 1-on-1 with a new partner at each stop, and leave knowing what's worth making room for. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Thursday 15 October | 6:10 pm to 8 pm ๐Ÿ“ Meet outside Barangaroo House ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ RSVP link in Bio IN SYNC: Outdoor Partner Yoga and Goal Setting This one's special as it's our first collab, with the amazing Amber from Field Flo Yoga ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธโ˜€๏ธ Bring your partner and start on the mat. We'll move together in the open air as the light turns golden, matching breath and learning to lean on each other, literally. Then, with the sun sinking low, we'll turn to the bigger picture: what youโ€™ve achieved together so far, what you want next together, and how you'll get there side by side. by @in_the_grain
One evening, two ways to get In Sync ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ’‹โ€๐Ÿ‘จ We start with outdoor partner yoga overlooking the Harbour Bridge with @fieldflo.yoga. Then, as the sky turns to gold and we're feeling refreshed, we settle into goal setting with our person. Reflecting on how far you've come, what you want next together and how you'll get there side by side. You'll leave with a plan you both believe in, and a reminder of why you're on the same team. Bring your partner, your friend, or anyone you'd trust to hold you up. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Sat 17 October | 5pm - 7pm ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธStargazer lawn, Barangaroo Reserve RSVP link in bio โœจ๏ธ #sunsetyoga #partneryoga #findyourflow #sydney #grain by @in_the_grain
