.drift.drive is the debut project from Bristol producer dark.eatr | A skittering record that gormandises about any electronic music heritage into something anew.

Oriented about the concept of driving in a cybernetic future, dark.eatr absorbs the sonics of deconstructed club, leftfield bass, bouncing UK techno, junglist heritage and anything that could be called post-trap, distilling each of these into a burgeoning individual sound. Picturing the extremities of acceleration, speeds which caper on the borderline of ecstasy and fatality, and the metropolitan landscape that backs it all in a manner equally statuesque and humming, dark.eatr turns this fictive world into allegory of self-examination and transience. An entwined record then, simultaneously imaginative of a vehicular future that might-be and interrogative of a self confronting productivity, artistry, spatialization and destination. dark.eatr so begins to establish an original world for himself, disestablishing a distinction between the real and unreal.

A project oriented around the concept of driving in a cybernetic future, it illustrates dark.eatr’s irreplicable sonic imagination. Via this musical study of vehicular travel, dark.eatr examines interiority, personhood and the reflective spaces of incertitude that emerge between euphoria and apocalypse. Inflected by videogames, anime and the continuum of bass music - whether deconstructed or no - .drift is a propulsive introduction to dark.eatr’s transportive future of menace and stimulation. dark.eatr’s sound is without comparison - a unique combination of avant-club’s violence astride a studious attitude to bass music. What emerges is a one-of-a-kind auditory assault.

Blasted low-end that evolves and curls into the listener’s body, crashing quasi-trap percussion, and worldbuilding sound design drawing on a bewildering array of samples. It is a music simultaneously serene and skittish. With .drift.drive dark.eatr pilots us into a metallic fantasy, where cars, fluorescent chaos and acceleration afford a canvas on which to explore the artist’s own interrogations of selfhood, productivity and, now, most certainly, arrival.

A compilation containing remastered, reworked and finalised versions of EatSleep’s empyrean pentalogy Sanctuary Bleeding.

Uniquely excisive music straddling the shattered emotionality of deconstructed club and the unbridled humanity of emo, Sanctuary Bleeding crystallises and culminates EatSleep’s work to this point. Confirming them a rarefied composer, penetrative of stray yet universal pools of feeling, encapsulating a ubiquitous and howling yearning, auralised through a lacerative approach to avant-garde dance music. This bridge between meek individuality and agonistic declamation alike the immolating star that appears to blink gently upon a nocturnal horizon.
