26.2 back in the city I grew up in 😎

On Sunday, I completed the Chicago Marathon honor of my Aunt Kathy after raising $3,500 for pancreatic cancer awareness & research with team @projectpurple in her memory over the last year 🧡

I like to think about all the things she would've said about me deciding to run a marathon for her. "Why would you do that?" "Why put yourself through that?" But even after all the grief, I know she would've been the first person to greet me at the finish line.

Around miles 18 and 20, my right knee decided to give in. I was in serious pain, but I locked in and continued the course. Even as I fell behind the timer, I kept fighting—because that's what she did.

The energy Chicago brought was unmatched by anything I'd ever felt before. From Mile 1, the energy was electric! Even after the roads re-opened and I had to finish by taking the sidewalks, scores of Chicagoans were there by my side with words of encouragement, electrolytes, and biofreeze.

Shoutout to my Dad, @abbierthompsonn, Roz & Nora, and @al_wiseman for cheering me on from the sidelines. Your support meant the world to me. And a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported my fundraising over the past year. You've all made a real difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer 💜

Chicago is the greatest city in the f*cking world. I'm so proud to have run my first marathon here, and I can't wait to come back in 2027. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @indaltonwetrust

Making progress!

On March 1st, I gave myself a personal challenge: get to the gym every day for a month straight. After 31 days, I felt great, so I thought I'd keep up the momentum through April. I'd never felt like this in my life; I went to sleep counting down the minutes until I could get myself back in the gym. In May, I challenged myself to lift a cumulative 1,000,000lbs over 31 days—and I did it. By that point, I'd managed to get a workout or a run in every day for 92 days straight. So, naturally, I decided to push myself a just little further to get my streak to a nice, round 100 days. But then, I just kept going. I even managed to lift another 1,000,000lbs over the course of June.

Now, 122 days since I started this personal challenge, I've kept my streak unbroken for an entire 1/3rd of 2026, setting dozens of personal bests, lifting more than 3.5million pounds, running more than 3 marathons, and losing over 30lbs.

This streak will come to an end soon, as my body is long overdue for a proper rest day, but I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come in just 4 months and what I've been able to accomplish for myself through grit, determination, and a metric fuckload of caffeine.

That said, please enjoy a few of my favorite progress pictures from the last few months 💪🤩 taken in Washington D. C. by @indaltonwetrust
