A FRESH START CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING:
Laura’s Home is more than a place to stay in Cleveland. It’s all about safety and a path forward.
Dozens of women and children have the opportunity to stay here as they rebuild from homelessness, domestic violence, and other challenges faced. Laura‘s home is on the west side of town and part of @thecitymission
This October, every purchase from Independent Eclectic helps support that mission.

Cheers to people doing good in northeast Ohio. ❤️

MY WHY:

Hey there— just wanted to check in during this first phase of the new year. Independent Eclectic has evolved so much over the last few months and I thought it was a good idea to reflect and reset for 2026.

This is My Why— some of my reasons for being here and doing what I do!

I love people, I love community, I love shopping second hand and finding pieces of me everywhere I go. You know that saying, “wherever you go, there you are!”, that’s how I feel about second hand shopping. Your personality is there waiting to be reflected in your cart. Then, when someone finds what they love through you, it’s the most rewarding feeling.

Plus, that shopping vehicle is a way for me to enjoy the process for a greater purpose.

I absolutely love sharing good news, discovering new places around town, and that fact we can give back to wonderful organizations and people through @independenteclectic , well, that’s just a dream come true.

Thanks for sharing this journey with me!

THESE ARE A CATCH:
Vintage ceramic wall hanging fish plaques. I love the colors of these and they are so well done and cool.

$22 each or $65 for all.

Six to eight inches long.
I love them all together.

I’M A GRATEFUL GIRL THIS MONDAY:
@vintageboutiquemarket was amazing as it always is and I’m full and of wonderful memories and so happy to think of all the things that made it special.

1. My dad (and mom always). He helped me carry this secretary desk/hutch up for set up this time. He is the best. I’m lucky to always count on him. He helped me make my set up how I pictured and he took time out of his day. 💛 This experience of working with him in my space matters more than any dollar I could ever earn.

2. @margauds_ connection. I’ll keep it short but I used to live near Margo’s family in childhood and we didn’t realize it until this weekend when our parents were all there to recognize each other. These are moments in life that I hold dear because they connect me to memories and I feel like stuff like that is divine. A person I had only met a few times became so safe to me! Xo

3. This goes without saying but all of the people and vendors and friends I get to see all weekend and how there’s just so much love for what we do. When friends come to visit it’s just the sweetest. And obviously the whole thing is just the best vibe. I love @vintageboutiquemarket !

Can’t wait to do it all over again in November 💛

WELCOME TO LAURA’S HOME:

October’s Independent Eclectic giveback takes me somewhere incredibly special. This is Laura’s Home, part of The City Mission in Cleveland. It provides shelter, support and a path forward for women and children facing crisis. We are talking about everything from domestic violence to homelessness.
But the opportunities for growth and love are endless here at this west side organization. I’m honored to give back to @thecitymission through Independent Eclectic profits this October. Cheers to people doing good things in northeast Ohio!

BRINGING THE ART OF THE DINNER PARTY TO THE VINTAGE BOUTIQUE MARKET:

I have the Vintage Boutique Market on the brain and truly autumn is the best. Everything is golden and these beautiful days are so inspiring.
Beautiful old plates, glassware, crystal, will be some of my favorites this time. Thinking dazzling dinner party, but make it vintage. Can’t wait for all of the fun! See you October 10/11 at 3800 Lakeside! @vintageboutiquemarket taken in Cleveland, Ohio by @independenteclectic

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE STUFF:

Ok, it is somewhat but truly this vintage loving community in Cleveland is so much more. It’s a safe space for me and so many others. Maybe that’s why I love markets so much. It looks like racks and displays but really it’s about community, kindness, women supporting women, etc. As I prepare for next weekend’s @vintageboutiquemarket that’s what I’ll have top of mind.
