It’s sometimes hard to keep track of all the memories we make along the way. With our last main event just under a month ago and a few live streams under our belt, we can now focus again on publishing some of the memorable sets we’ve recorded. This one is from 2024 but it still keeps ringing around in our minds: VOLPEVOLPE @ Undisclosed x In de WirWar. Heavy hitting electro that immediately takes you back to peak darkness at night. Still processing…

WAT een week 🥹

Tegen de Muur is van start, en HOE!!😍

De eerste !!7!! Voorstellingen zitten erop!
Een rollercoaster van ervaringen, ontmoetingen, gesprekken en uitwisselingen.

En het werk mocht al op zoveel verschillende plekken landen. Van een voorstelling voor MBO-studenten, tot een intieme theatervoorstelling in een black box setting, een clubavond tijdens WirWar Festival en gisteren tussen het groen van de Hortus Alkmaar.

Wauw… wat een rijkdom, zoveel verschillende contexten.

Afgelopen week hebben we de laatste puntjes op de i gezet en de voorstelling mogen delen met publiek. En eerlijk gezegd ben ik nog steeds alles aan het laten bezinken.

Iedere plek bracht iets anders. Andere ogen, andere gesprekken, andere reacties. Het blijft bijzonder om te ervaren hoe een onderzoek dat begon vanuit mijn eigen ervaring met stress, spanning en prestatiedruk, zoveel herkenning oproept bij anderen.

Ik voel vooral veel dankbaarheid voor alle mensen die hun tijd, kennis, creativiteit en vertrouwen hebben gedeeld en hebben meegebouwd aan Tegen de Muur:

En dank aan alle speel plekken die ons hebben ontvangen, aan iedereen die is komen kijken, een gesprek aanging na afloop, een bericht stuurde, heeft meegeleefd, geholpen, gedeeld of nog van plan is de voorstelling te bezoeken.

Ik ben nog aan het verwerken wat deze week allemaal heeft gebracht.

Maar één ding weet ik zeker, deze voorstelling heeft vleugels.

30 May - TODAY - In de WirWar - The music of UKSIMO is shaped by immersive, layered atmospheres that create a strong sense of depth and space, driven by a clear focus on rhythm. Using modular synthesizers, he crafts distinctive sounds and textures, pushing into deeper, more rhythm-oriented realms of techno. This forward-thinking approach carries seamlessly into his DJ sets.

30 May - In de WirWar - As a choreographer, KAMEE FRIELING draws inspiration from her surroundings, using the body as a central point and source of insight. She is fascinated by working with objects, physical movement, and text, creating a poetic world where dreams and reality merge into a new universe. The body serves as her primary source of emotion, knowledge, and truth — in relation to the world and in connection with others.

TEGEN DE MUUR is a dance theatre performance about the physical impact of stress and performance pressure. The choreography shifts between fluid and abrupt transitions in a physical search for softness and release.

30 May - In de WirWar - VJ squad - As the evening progresses, we trade daylight for spotlights, lamps and light art. The lighting design for this edition is by COLIN BOSCHMA, drummer, sound engineer and above all a light enthusiast.

BLINDE VLEK has played many venues, and is our most experienced artist by far. Over time he has build a huge library of clips, so he can blend in every genre and size.

TESTBEELD might only just ‘give people seizures since 2023’ as he puts it, in this short period he developed an unmistakable style. Using his set as both imaging and light show he can alter spaces like no other.

ISCHA.ART is our new found kid on the block. As part of the HKU art manifestation last month, he quickly made a name for himself as both a sculpting and visual artist.

CENTRALE VERWARRING is always connecting sound, light, motion and atmosphere. Not necessarily in the right way, but always with surprising results.

30 May - In de WirWar - Outdoor/indoor edition - 36framez and Shana will guide us through the remaining daylight with an energizing b2b, closing the outdoor stage.

Though most people knew 36FRAMEZ as a nightlife photographer and frequent dancefloor attendee, they also have a profound passion for playing and collecting vinyl records. Their record bag is filled with everything house, from punchy rhythms with queer vocals, to deep and soulful grooves or quirky curveballs.

36framez was named as one of the biggest DJ talents of 2026 by 3voor12 and moved dancers’ feet with sets at clubs/festivals like IsBurning, CLUB RAUM, BLITZ Munich, Orbit festival, BRET and Radion.

SHANA is a DJ and co-founder of Utrecht-based collective per liminal. “I’m also enormously inspired by the people I meet during events: artists who dare to step outside their comfort zone, leave their club sets behind, and instead focus on creating a sound that radiates tenderness and reveals a different side of themselves”.

30 May - In de WirWar - 🌞 Outdoor/indoor edition 🌛- Another b2b to look forward to: INDY & Garnett - hosted by OBERHAUM

INDY will move your body before your mind can cath up, building her sets on intense basslines, contrasting textures and shifting rhythms. She will guide us through different rhythms, blending them in a way that feels natural yet unexpected. With influences from her roots, she blends dark elements with contrasting lighter layers, creating something that is both playful and reflective. Always mirroring her emotions at that exact moment.

GARNETT, originally from Northampton and now based in Utrecht, is known for moving between soulful Detroit house, techno, and bass-driven rhythms. His residency on Oroko Radio blends groove-heavy house with experimental sounds, creating a cohesive narrative.
He’s played at festivals like Dekmantel Selectors and Orbit, and De School in Amsterdam. Whether warming up with melodic house or closing with bass-heavy techno, Garnett adapts to the space and builds energy through long and subtle transitions.
