An achievement award is not the goal. It is not a destination to reach. It is rather a symbolic confirmation of your potential future success.

The Shri Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebidu—built around 1121 CE.The external walls represent a masterclass in architectural planning, geometric rigor, and sculptural density. Geometric

Alignment and Symmetry: The Staggered Square Plan

Unlike the star-shaped (stellar) plans seen at Belur, the Hoysaleswara Temple uses a staggered square layout multiplied symmetrically across its twin shrines (dvikuta).
* Light and Shadow Dynamics: This geometric stepping is a deliberate masterstroke.
* As the tropical sun moves across the sky throughout the day, the angular wall offsets catch the light differently, creating a rhythmic, high-contrast play of deep shadows and blazing highlights that accentuates the depth of the carvings.

Not an architect, not a historian—just a curious visitor who read a little, observed a little more, and clicked a lot. 📷 Walking through Brihadisvara, I was simply mesmerised by the scale, sculptures and artistry created over 1,000 years ago. Sometimes, you don’t need to understand every detail to appreciate such genius creations of humanity.... you just stand, observe and enjoy. 🛕✨ #Parthography #Brihadisvara #CholaArchitecture #Thanjavur #incredibleindia by @indian.temples

Did you know about the history of Ganesha sculptures in temples? Swipe left to know.

Ganesha, one of the most reverred deity in Hinduism, find sculptures in all different parts of the country.

The earliest appearance comes in form of elephant headed figure on Indo-Greek coins of 1st century BCE.

Then Ganesha appears in early phase of sculpture development, in form of Terracotta idols.

The terracotta sculptures were discovered in different archaeological excavations in Ter and Pal of Maharashtra, Verrapuram of Andhra Pradesh and Chandraketugarh of Bengal.

The stone idols of Ganesha first started in Kushan period, and were discovered in Mathura.

But Ganesha sculptures were not limited to India alone. Ganesha sculptures were discovered in many parts of the world, most significantly from Afghanistan.

Ganesha also appears in early Hindu cave temples; including Udayagiri, Ellora, Elephant, Badami, Aihole and Mahabalipuram.

In later times, Ganesha sculptures became a prominent part of all temples across India and subcontinent.
