The Indiana State Officer Team recently traveled to Washington D.C to embark on an unforgettable week at the State Officer Summit! After flying in on Monday, they started their jouney with a visit to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park followed by the very first opening session of Summit! Day 2 landed the state officers in Arlington National Cemetery, honoring our nation's heritage and those who fought to secure freedoms for us all. They engaged in discussions about national delegate proposals, learned more about being an advocate for FFA, and rounded out the day with participating in mock legislative visits. Day 3 was filled with advocacy and meaningful connections as the officers traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with Senators, Representatives, and their staff. They disscussed the impact FFA has had on their lives and how important it is for future generations to have the same opportunities within it. They furthermore disscussed agricultural education and its importance, and how they wish to continue to give back and make an impact through FFA. The state officers rounded out the night by attending the State Officer Social where they learned new line dances and continued to connect with other state officers from across the nation. Day 4 was filled with interactive experiences as they participated in leadership delegate trainings, and visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Towards the evening, the officers concluded the day with a guided tour of the national monuments in Washington D.C. and heard from the National Officer Team as they gave their reflections on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial. Day 5 included attending break out rotations and the final State Officer Summit closing session. Overall, the experiences, relationships, and lessons gained throughout the week will continue to fuel the state officers' leadership as they inspire, advocate, and make a difference across Indiana FFA and beyond.#INFFA #stateofficersummit #nationalffa #FFA by @indianaffa
