🚨 MEERUT: FAKE CIGARETTE FACTORY BUSTED!

A counterfeit cigarette manufacturing unit has reportedly been busted in Hastinapur, Meerut, where fake cigarettes were allegedly being produced using the names of well-known ITC brands.

According to police and media reports, brands including Gold Flake, Classic, Wills Navy Cut, India Kings and Scissors were allegedly being manufactured at the facility.

💰 The operation was reportedly producing/supplying counterfeit cigarettes worth around ₹50 lakh every day, with the products being distributed across multiple states.

The case came to light after ITC officials investigated the circulation of counterfeit products and alerted the police, leading to the raid. Police reportedly recovered large quantities of finished cigarettes, raw materials, packaging material and machinery, with the total seized material valued at around ₹3 crore.

⚠️ Counterfeit tobacco products can pose serious consumer-safety concerns because their contents and manufacturing standards may not match genuine products.

📌 This case also highlights how difficult it can be for consumers to distinguish counterfeit products from genuine ones.
