Tucked away in Muvattupuzha, Kerala — where three rivers meet — lies the Indian Summer House.

A boutique, family-run retreat built with love, where red-tiled roofs, swaying palms, and the sound of water set the pace for your days.

It’s not just a place to stay.
It’s a place to feel at home.
And yes… the pool is this inviting.

At the heart of the Indian Summer House is not just a place — it’s the people. 💛

From the family who built it with love, to the hosts who greet you with a smile, to the chefs who turn our garden harvest into soulful South Indian curries… every face here is part of the story.

We call ourselves the Indian Summer House family because that’s exactly how it feels — a home, not a hotel.
When you stay with us, you’re not just a guest. You’re part of the family too. 🌿✨

In the heart of Kerala, in a small town called Muvattupuzha — whose name means “where three rivers meet” — you’ll find the Indian Summer House.

From above, you’ll see red-tiled roofs, swaying palms, and gardens kissed by the sun…
But what you can’t see is the feeling.

The warmth that greets you like an old friend.
The beauty that slows your heartbeat.
The serenity that stays with you long after you leave.

Some places are seen.
This one is felt.

There are stays you choose for where they are, and others for the way they make you experience a place.

The Indian Summer House belongs to the latter. Rooted in its surroundings and designed for a slower rhythm of travel, it offers the kind of stay where time is spent lingering over meals, taking in the landscape and discovering the destination beyond the usual checklist.

A reminder that sometimes, experiencing a place well begins with choosing the right place to stay.

Some places are designed to impress you.
Others are designed to exhale.

We loved this piece by Architectural Digest because it understood something essential about Indian Summer House — that the real luxury here was never about excess. It’s about space. Silence. Slowness. The feeling of being held gently by a landscape instead of hurried through it.

In Kerala, nature doesn’t sit outside the property like a backdrop. It seeps into everything. The sound of rain on the roof. The smell of curry leaves crackling in coconut oil. The way the river bends around the property as though it had always belonged there.

What makes a place memorable is rarely the thread count or the architecture alone. It’s the feeling you carry home afterwards. The strange relief of waking up without urgency. Eating food grown a few metres away. Having conversations that stretch long after dinner because nobody feels the need to check the time.

The article calls it a boutique hotel.
But the people who stay here usually describe it differently.

They say it felt like coming home to a slower version of themselves.

Thank you to Architectural Digest for capturing Indian Summer House with such care.
