I am the face of all who came before me.
The echo of grandmothers songs, the strength of warriors hearts.
Every freckle, every line, and every curve of bone.

My skin carries the stories they whispered to the stars.
My eyes hold the horizon they walked toward,
generation after generation.

I am not just one
I am many, walking as one.

They dreamed, they fought, they prayed,
so I could stand here by @indiarose______
