July is hard. These middle years have seen a lot of loss for my friends and family. Matariki is a time for reflection and remembrance at a moment when we all need the comfort of friendship and companionship. This July we remember Cole, Linda, Nuala, John, Bernie and Glyn, sons, mothers, grandmothers, partners, fathers. This Matariki we start new traditions and forge bonds so that our grief feels a little less. Grief is love, friendship is love, togetherness is love. by @indie_pixel

Today Cole would be 25, it’s been 10 years since we had Cole earth side for a birthday. I like to imagine my effortlessly likeable quiet kind brave son, finished with studies, working, travelling, waking up in Sydney maybe with his brother, the endless possibilities never realised. To never get to be his friend, all the things we can only imagine. Always loved, always remembered, always missed. 01-16. by @indie_pixel
