“What the clownfish saw”
This fisheye perspective of Amnesia gives you an idea why it is considered one of the best kite waves there is. The waves at Beran are all pretty hard wraps and they start way out the back or the reef pass where the wind blows side shore during kite season and then as they wrap the wave slowly becomes perfectly offshore. With no crowds and the problem they cause it’s a perfect location to get tubed kite strings and all. If you shoot us a DM we can fill you in on when the perfect time to visit for wind sports is. “Dock Party”
This is where the “Marine” in marine adventures comes from out at Beran Island. Nobody on the planet has more marine infrastructure in place at a watersports resort than Beran island. Everything from 24 meter liveaboard vessels through to inflatable toys is just a short walk from where you sleep and it’s up to you which activity your day is going to be filled with. Swipe Left “The Clean Green”
Beran island sits like an emerald jewel on the edge of our Atoll’s lagoon. One side is open to the swells of the North Pacific and the other the protected waters of the lagoon. Nobody’s on the island other than our guests and staff. We are as remote and private as you can get. Because of this remoteness our founder Martin Daly has run the entire island on renewable energy for over 15 years. Wind turbines, solar panels, batteries and a giant swimming pool sized water storage cistern below the building that doubles as cooling system support. It is quite literally the definition of clean and green. Our home there is surrounded by marine resources that are pristine and no mater what you want to experience that is ocean based we have you covered at the highest level. “Solitude”
One of the things we have always done with our surf charter vessels is “Give the pack the slip” it’s one of our main focuses every time we take people surfing and something we manage to do most charters. Sometimes it will mean we drive from one end of the island chain to the other but sessions like this one where you and your friends get to experience surfing as good as it can be make those miles disappear instantly.
We still have some select dates available in 2027 aboard MV Indies Trader III and while 2028 is filling fast there are also some dates available aboard her for our regular season. DM us to start a conversation and Let’s go! Pic via tygphoto by @indiestrader

Beyond the regular watersports Beran Island is also home to a very lively fishery . . . as in super lively. Yellowfin tuna are one of the pelagic species that regularly make the journey from reef pass to sashimi platter. Ones like these would also appear as perfectly seared tuna steaks. The upstairs rooms at Beran Island are about as comfortable as rooms get. You can choose to have the air conditioner that is powered by the solar panels on the buildings roof and batteries below to cool it or you can simply open the door and let the trade wind do the work. Casper mattresses, crisp sheets and a view like no other are the icing on the cake. DM us to find out about the coming seasons availability. by @indiestrader

The learning and instructional period in wind sports was once a real barrier to entry but those days are now long gone. Things like jetski support, instructor to client radio headsets, rescue sleds for fast efficient pickups in shallow water, video reviews at the days end, all those things mean you parth from beginner to advanced is shorter than ever before. During a @reostevens #mikteadventure at Beran you also have the advantage of having the ENTIRE Atoll to just you and 11 others so the learning curve is shortened again. “The Big House”
When Martin decided to come ashore at Beran Island and put together something he did it with a waterman’s eye. Because of this the view from the balcony of the main building at Beran is to the wave out front on one side and down the lagoon to “The Bowl” in the other. When you are standing on the balcony early in the morning with a fresh coffee the reality that there is not another surfer or foiler or kiter other than the ones in your group hits hard. The fact somebody had the drive to build this and power it with the wind and the sun and turn a dream to reality hits even harder. The reef passes in the Atoll that is home to Beran Island are the gateway to the open ocean that the internal Atoll lagoon waters enter and exit each day and the “Bumps” in those passes become a field of dreams for foil fans like @keahideaboitiz pictured here. If you are loyal to the foil and would like come and experience this natural phenomenon during the coming water sports season just drop us a DM to check availability.
