DETROIT HAS VAMPIRES!! If you’re one of them, maybe you should head over to the @thehighdivehamtramck on Oct 24th 9pm-2am for a salacious seance with the Detroit Vampire community! Sip on the finest of liquor blood at the bar and enjoy live music from @stardustcrusadersmusic and the fangtastic mixings of DJ’s @obiwanshinob1 and @auntiechanel. @indigo_cosplay will also be debuting a dj set at the start of the show so it’s sure to be a Blöödy good time!

NEW AT SLOW STITCH: PLUS SIZE SEWING FOR BEGINNERS!

We are SO excited to launch a new sewing series this October using Jenny Rushmore’s empowering book, Ahead of the Curve: Learn to Fit and Sew Amazing Clothes for Your Curves.

Because your body shouldn’t have to fit the clothes. The clothes should fit YOU.

Join teaching artist Indigo Walker @indigo_cosplay for a 4 week beginner series where we’ll make the Magna Pants from start to finish, learning sewing, garment construction, fitting, and how to adjust a pattern for your own unique body.

No sewing experience required. Each student with purchase the book which comes with 5 sewing patterns! Patterns available in sizes 12–32. Book + pattern by @jenny.rushmore / @cashmerette

And this is just the beginning! We hope to grow this into an ongoing Plus Size Sewing Studio where participants help choose what we make next and build skills together.

A note on inclusivity: Ahead of the Curve features clothing styles and silhouettes designed primarily for women. If you’re male, nonbinary, or simply don’t see yourself in these particular styles but would benefit from a plus size sewing and fitting class, please reach out to us. We want to build a welcoming space where more bodies, identities, and personal styles are represented.

I had such a great time at @itsanimemagic see all my favorite people in the world. Honestly the con itself was lacking but I’d go every year if it meant seeing my best friends @x.yuzucha.x and @wasai_bee every time. I had such a great time with them! Not to mention the double to my trouble @texastoast28 cosplaying another version of Team Rocket with me and seeing @ajtheestampede and @littleeviecosplay randomly this weekend. I also found some very nice Psyduck merch to add to my obsession-I mean, collection. Okay, if you read this far into the post you deserve a forehead kiss next time I see you.
