Three months into 2026 and I'm already feeling like I'm getting put through the ringer. Job loss, injuries, heartbreak. Last week was the biggest blow and it was just enough to cause a landslide within me. I had enough of life and I felt like I was losing some of the things and people that mattered to me most. And as many of us do in such times (especially men), I retreated, I isolated, I cracked. It became difficult to see my blessings through the gathering dark clouds.

It took me a few days to get myself together and a handful of really great people that unexpectedly showed up for me to remind me that I am cared for in the good times and in the hard times.

Shedding skins from the Year of The Snake and welcoming in growth, renewal, and new light as we enter the Spring Equinox. I don't follow these things too closely yet it's hard to ignore the divine timing of everything. Ancient cultures seem to have some things figured out.

I put this video together to remind myself of the good in my life when everything around me felt like it was falling apart again. The love of my friends, my expression of jiu jitsu, meditative nights making photographs, my dog, new experiences and opportunities.

This pretty lofi, 90's style (lol) video also reminded me that the story matters more than how it is presented. It may not look as pretty as I would like or what I am capable of, the story itself is beautiful on its own though and that's enough for me.

Thank you to everyone who believes in me in any regard and shows up for me when I need it most. You pulled me out of a ridiculous funk last week that I normally would have sulked in much longer. You helped me find grace rather than self-shame.

Ok, enough oversharing on the internet, we got life to live! 😀

What a fun way to spend the holiday! Surrounded by so many beautiful people, today was truly a blessing. To have the day off from work, to be healthy enough to train, to be welcomed and accepted by such a large group of people in such a wonderful space. Drenched in sweat, enveloped in joy--my heart is super full today. I wish I could have rolled with every single person here, truly. Thank yall for keeping me sharp, helping me navigate tough moments that you don't even know about, and for reminding me what it feels like to be alive. I love all of you. 💙

I had the idea for this video on my way to logosbjjdenver last week while sitting in the [pre-sunrise] dark at the red light before pulling into a parking spot. My mind and my eyes see things in the oddest ways at the strangest times and I've learned to just go with it. I didnt really plan much outside of the shots in the middle of the road and walking in, knowing I could fill the rest out with rolls from everyone. Zephyr at the entrance was the best surprise and brought it all together for me. Serendipity has a way of making life (and your creations) more interesting if you're paying attention. Thank you to everyone at Logos, students and visitors, homies and strangers, for all the tough work every week. These mornings are becoming my favorite.

My favorite white belt couple @meemzmomo and Q, two of @logosbjjwestminster finest. I've often wondered what it would be like dating someone who also does jiu jitsu. Competing at the same event as your hunnybun must be next level cool. S/O to these two for grinding through these white belt days together!

Some more action from White Belt Worlds at @logosbjjdenver. It was a super fun day with a lot of exciting matches. Wins and losses, it was awesome seeing so many people get after it with all they have, surrounded by so many friends and new faces. S/O to all the competitors, yall did amazing and put on a great show.

White Belt Worlds was absolute insanity in the best ways possible. What a blast it was watching friends and teammates put it all on the line in competition. I've had the pleasure of training with a lot of these people and watching them grow in jiu jitsu has been awesome. For a lot of them, this was their first comp experience and that in itself is a big win. I know a lot of people who choose to pass on the challenge of competing entirely so I am extra proud of those who did step up and fight in this event.

S/O to the @logosbjjdenver team for hosting a great event and giving white belts an opportunity to pursue their dreams and conquer goals.

Cans on cans. These used to feel a lot different 15 years ago. Life really comes at you fast and change is inevitable. I guess I just appreciate them differently now. And they're almost synonymous with each other; it's not a true graff session if there aren't any Modelos around lol. This day, Englewood felt a little like San Antonio in the best way.

Two of my favorite scents in life are a jar of really sticky bud and aerosol clouds.

Hanging out with the @alleycatspaint homies a couple weekends ago. It had been awhile since I been to a graff battle and was excited to be among some great talents. The smell of aerosol filling the air as I walked closer to the venue sparked so many memories from my days in Texas where I used to spend endless hours with artists painting walls, making photos, and conversing over life & art. Vinyl DJs providing music, blackbooks being passed around like blunts, artists linking with other artists. Overspray, tags, and living life. Great times!

Graffiti culture is something I am always happy to be a part of wherever I travel and live. It has inspired so much of what I do.

Forgot I captured a little bit of video from @thegrapplingbuffalo grand opening. I really should plan these videos better. If it's on the fly like this, I never seem to catch enough footage lol. And to be fair I was hired to make photos, I just decided to get a few clips towards the end of the session for myself. In any case, this was at the tail end of the day and probably better since the room was thinning out and easier to maneuver around. I'm hoping this will be my last video in Premiere too. I think I have one more I may or may not edit in Adobe and then it's peace out as I migrate to Resolve which has already proved to be great in my previous skate video.
