The season of ELS is over, but the impact will never leave me.

ELS stands for Everyday Lifestyle School. It is an 8 month discipleship school that teaches wisdom to assist your everyday walk with Jesus. I wanted to be in it to not only nurture my own relationship with the Lord, but also share with others to help their personal walk with Jesus as well.

I went into ELS not knowing if I would “fit in” or be “qualified,” considering I gave my life to Jesus a little over 2 years ago, but very quickly I learned it’s exactly where I should be.

I learned many things, but my personal biggest takeaway is that the more we draw near to Him, the more He draws near to us (James 4:8). My heart was being healed day by day by the knowledge of the Word of God. I thought I was in decent standing, but He humbled me quickly and showed me there were plenty of areas that could be redeemed. I learned to slow down and soak in His presence, spend time with Him not because I have to but because I love Him, how important it is to have kingdom community, and gained a greater understanding of the depths of how much God loves all of us. By being intentional with Him, He revealed to me more gifts of the Spirit, set me free from a massive amount of hidden shame, answered many prayers, matured me, and my heart is more captivated in ways I didn’t know were possible. I overall have a greater understanding of who He really is.

The Lord fills every moment with purpose, and His love sustains me.

It’s true! The deeper we go, the more free we become.

The more time I spend with You, Lord, the more I begin to desire the very things about You that I once never thought I’d long for. Time and time again, I see how each act of obedience fills the gaps of darkness with a radiant light that never gets old. A light I didn’t even realize my soul had been yearning for all along even in the little things.

Oh Jesus, how deeply You love us all. I pray that You would continue to open my heart so I see You in everything I do. taken in Waco, Texas by @indihamlin
