Everything has a beginning, a pause and possibly an overall ending. I came up with the tag name individualk when I was 17 years old in high school. Simply because I’ve always been an individual and the first letter in my name is K. I’ve always wanted to take an extended hiatus from the virtual world. Always said I would and never have. After years of being gravely under appreciated and widely uncelebrated. I have come to the conclusion to stop using social media for an extended amount of time. Social media has done nothing but tell me that if I’m not a mixed, mullato, light skinned or an African with strong features that I am not beautiful. I have realized that I will never be any of that and that it’s time to fully accept that if anything greater was meant for me that it would have already happened. Yet nothing so now I know an ending is required. And maybe a new beginning someday only time will tell. I want to thank anybody that has followed me, liked, shared and commented over the years. I appreciate you for seeing me and celebrating me. It will always be love and light. And for now it’s a goodbye and a maybe on I’ll see yall later 🖤 by @individualk

Turned 32 in Guatemala this year. And I was reminded just how important it is for me to remember to continue to love myself. This year has been one of the toughest years of my life. I’ve been met with so much adversity that it is making me feeling like I’m drowning in life. Instead of feeling hopeless I took myself to a romantic dinner in a cave and celebrated my life. I figured if I can’t have someone who does this for me romantically I have to do it myself. Cheers to the people who do it alone gracefully with self love at the forefront. We deserve love, celebration and peace.

Special thanks to the staff @aquaantigua for the hospitality. It was great dinner and the services were amazing.

This post is to focus on telling the story about how the fit became the fit. As many people know I love a good theme inspired by a person I’m supporting or the place I’m visiting. The requirement for brunch was white and the place I visited was New Orleans.

I went from there. I chose the top because it reminded me of abstract art. The shorts were chosen because it’s the summer and it’s hot. The beaded bottom was chosen because it reminded me of a dream catcher and the Black Masking Indians aka Mardi Gras Indians. Everything I do, I do it with intentions to celebrate and create. New Orleans is such a mystical and artistic place. It’s also one of the few places that makes me feel safe, loved and seen. Added bonus the food is amazing and the people are dope.

I know this is long and 90% people probably won’t read, like or comment. But being that this is one of my last few post before I take a long hiatus from the virtual world. I wanted to share my process with the public.
