Setelah empat tahun sejak pameran tunggal pertamanya, *Kune-Kune* (2022) di Semarang Gallery, Kanoko Takaya kembali menghadirkan karya-karya terbarunya yang melanjutkan eksplorasinya tentang proses penciptaan sebagai perjalanan yang terus berkembang dan saling terhubung.Berawal dari sebuah sketsa, setiap karya bertumbuh melalui serangkaian keputusan mengenai material, warna, dan komposisi yang saling memengaruhi. ROH is delighted to share ikkibawiKrrr’s upcoming solo exhibition, 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶, 𝘓𝘢𝘨𝘶 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯, 𝘈𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘨, continuing the visual research band’s journey of expanded belonging, untethered to place and time.How do we meet our ancestors when we have lost our ground, both as a physical space and a sense of belonging? 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶, 𝘓𝘢𝘨𝘶 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶 directly follows the collective’s presentation in Basel, 𝘓𝘢𝘨𝘶 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶 𝘓𝘢𝘭𝘶: 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘨, 𝘈𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘨, extending their focus on stones and places that endure time through their seclusion from urban life. The installation brings together research conducted across South Korea and Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, developed in ongoing relationship with communities who hold an unbroken proximity to their ancestral lives, rather than treating preserved relics as heritage. ikkibawiKrrr’s practice of charcoal rubbing, which they affectionately term as to “rock n’ feel”, is to touch time through physical contact with weathered stone surfaces. From this contact, ikkibawiKrrr develops a practice that moves across musical, sculptural, performance and documentary means, participating in the continuous presence of art in life.ikkibawiKrrr (established 2021, South Korea) is a visual research band consisting of members Gyeol Ko and Jieun Cho. ROH is delighted to share Tromarama’s ongoing, month-long screening as part of the Times Square Arts’ Summer 2026 Midnight Moment Program. From 1 to 31 July, Tromarama’s single-channel video 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘖𝘯 #𝟸 will be screened nightly between 11.57 PM - Midnight at Times Square, New York.𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘖𝘯 #𝟸 examines how technology reshapes everyday experience, alters our sense of reality, and meditates our relationship with the environment. The work unfolds as a continuous, choreographed loop in which electric fans appear to activate shifting images and familiar scenes from daily life. What initially feels like a clear chain of cause and effect slowly unravels, disrupting expectations shaped by lived experience and raising questions about memory, association, and authenticity in a hyper-connected world. By positioning the screen as a site of continuous negotiation, 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘖𝘯 #𝟸 reflects on how contemporary technologies collapse distinctions between the real and the digital. Across a sequence of interconnected scenes, the work foregrounds how identity, memory, and meaning are increasingly mediated, circulated, and reassembled, revealing a reality that is perpetually in motion-produced through systems we both inhabit and attempt to control.The video is presented in partnership with The Kitchen, where the collective uses video, installation, and algorithmic processes to investigate the boundaries between virtual and physical worlds.
