How time flies. Jacques starts his Senior year today 😊 by @indyalan
Some time has passed since I lost my Big Brother in Alpha Phi Alpha this Spring. As I type this, it is befitting that he crossed the Burning Sands in Spring as many of us did. But Kelly Cooper was more than my Fraternity Brother. He was a dear friend. We shared many an adventure and deep conversation since meeting way back in 1986. Many road trips. Many late nights. Most notably Chicago, Toronto, and Florida and our home Detroit. Part of the Original Hang Crew with Brian Wims(Departed)Natalie Moore Lawrence Beasley and others (You know who you are!). This photo was taken in 1990 at The Taste of Chicago. A showcase for this new “House Music” that would one day take over the world (We knew). Way too many stories to tell, so I will simply wish my heartfelt condolences to his kind and loving mother, LaValia Cooper, and his family, who treated me as a son. As our hymn says, “College days swiftly pass, imbued with memories fond”. In this case, the recollection never fades away. Rest well, Coop and forever Hang Out. A Phi 🤙🏽 by @indyalan
