With the Long Island Ducks taking home their 5th @atlanticleague title in 2026 (and first of the @mlb Partner League Era), they now sit just one behind the Somerset Patriots for the all-time league record. Is 2027 the year they tie it? Will one of the 5 current franchises without an ALPB title get on the board? What do you think we see in 2027?

Your 2026 Partner League -> @mlb debuts! What a group of great players who are examples of what happens when you really put your head down and get to work. Congrats to all 13 of these players.

I don’t want to take away from the @naprobaseball rebrand announcement for today, however with their rebrand, IBI needed one too! Don’t worry, not going anywhere. In fact, better and more in depth offseason content is coming your way! Thank you for the support, and I’m so excited for the next chapter of covering the wonderful world of independent league baseball. This is bigger than baseball, it’s about the players, the coaches, and the fans: you! Let me know if there is specific content you’d like to see this offseason, and I’ll see what I can do!

In one of the most hectic afternoons in the short but fun @mlb partner league era (2021-present), we saw two franchises officially switch partner leagues, and an organization fold. We’re not even in October yet, and ALL FOUR partner leagues will see changes to the organizational landscape in 2027. What intrigued you most about this hectic afternoon?

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE TITLE IS STAYING NORTH OF THE BORDER!!!

The Ottawa Titans have won their first ever title in their 5th season as a franchise, and will be the last organization ever to say they won the Frontier League Championship Series. They defeat the Evansville Otters in what will go down as “the series of OTT” to win their first title, the first non-Capitales champions since 2021.

For the first time in the @mlb partner league era and since 2019, and for the fifth time ever (tying the ALPB record), the Long Island Ducks are Atlantic League Champions!

Following in the footsteps of the Billings Mustangs and Kansas City Monarchs, the Ducks are the third partner league team to sweep in the championship series in 2026. Congrats Long Island!

For the second time in four years, the Kansas City Monarchs are American Association Champions!

The Monarchs have now book-ended the back-to-back titles for Kane County with two titles of their own. The ‘21, ‘23, and ‘26 champs now claim the most AAPB titles of any franchise in the @mlb partner league era.

THE BILLINGS MUSTANGS ARE @pioneerbaseballleague CHAMPS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 12 YEARS!!!

A clean sweep of Long Beach in the championship series earns them the title, as they win on the road and at home to secure the championship win. Enjoy this one Mustangs fans!

The @atlanticleague playoffs start today!

- None of the 4 playoff teams have been to the championship series since 2021, when Lexington beat Long Island.
- Southern Maryland hasn’t been to the finals since 2015, and has never won an ALPB title.
- Hagerstown not only doesn’t have a title, but has never even been to the ALPB championship series.
- Long Island owns 4 titles, with 2021 being the only for Lexington.

Plenty to play for over the next two weeks!
