Chicago artist Recoechi, @recoechi, was in New York doing press with his team and made a point to stop by and sit with Renata “Rena” Lowenbraun, CEO of Infanity. Recoechi calls himself “signed by the community” - instead of a label, his fans and local supporters fund his career directly, from his travel to his recording sessions to his live shows. He talked about what that means for independent artists, with Rena right there, listening and agreeing as he spoke.

That’s the work: showing up, listening to artists, and building something in the trenches with them - not from the outside looking in.

Havoc, @mobbdeephavoc, has been one half of Mobb Deep’s sound for over three decades - as an artist and the producer behind the group’s cold drums and bleak melodies.
He’s been with Infanity since day one, not because he was asked to, but because he believes in what the founders are building.
In this clip, he’s telling artists directly: your likes and comments already carry value.
Infanity is how you actually get paid for it.

When the love and flowers are 🔥! @therhymemachineofficial shows up hard for our co-founder, @tragedy252 and their #💯! 🙏

” @tragedy252 is one of Hip Hop’s great unsung architects. He entered the culture so young that he was already recording with Marley Marl and the Juice Crew while Hip Hop itself was still becoming what we recognize today. That gives Trag a perspective very few emcees can claim. He didn’t arrive after the blueprint was written. He helped write part of it. Listen to Intelligent Hoodlum and then listen to what came out of Queensbridge in the 90s. The darker imagery, street intelligence, vocabulary, rhyme patterns and way reality could be turned into cinematic bars all feel connected to a language Trag was developing years earlier. Havoc was his young protégé and Tragedy even gave him the name Havoc. Nas, Mobb Deep, CNN and an entire Queensbridge generation would take the sound in their own incredible directions, but Trag is one of the important links between the raw language of 80s Hip Hop and the style of street lyricism that dominated the 90s and still lives today.

What makes that legacy even crazier is that Tragedy never became a museum piece. Put on the new music and the pen is still sharp. The voice, pockets, vocabulary and command of a verse are still there. For anybody serious about becoming an elite emcee, his catalog deserves to be studied, not just heard. Study the early records. Study Intelligent Hoodlum. Study his role in The War Report. Then study his own albums and mixtapes as well as what he does now. You’re hearing an emcee who has existed through almost the entire recorded history of this culture without losing the ability to rhyme at an elite level. If Hip Hop ever wanted a biopic that could tell its own evolution through one human life, Tragedy Khadafi has lived one of those stories. From MC Percy to Intelligent Hoodlum to Tragedy Khadafi, generations changed around him, styles changed around him, and the culture became a global institution. Trag kept rhyming. Issue #100 had to be him. by @infanity.official

The Sufis call it sama: deep listening.

Judaism’s central prayer begins with one word: “Hear.” The Vedas are called shruti, “that which is heard.” St. Benedict’s Rule opens with “Listen.”

Across traditions, listening was never passive. It was devotion.

If listening is sacred, so is the bond between the one who sings and the one who hears.

Today we listen more than ever and honor it less than ever. Endless scroll, endless skip.

What if every time we were truly moved, the artist felt it too?

That’s the question behind @infanity.official.

Sound is sacred. So is how we receive it.

You don’t need more fans. You need the ones you already have to count for something.

Somebody’s had your song on repeat for two weeks. They’ve sent it to four people. They comment on everything you post. And none of that has ever turned into a dollar for you - not on any music streaming platform you’re on right now.

That’s not a fanbase problem. That’s a plumbing problem.

On Infanity, every like and every comment from a fan is real income for you. The same people, doing the same things they already do. The difference is that it reaches you now.

You’ve been double-tapping songs your whole life and it has never done a single thing for the person who made them.

Two taps. That’s the whole thing. Find something you like, like it, say something about it - and that artist gets real income for it. Not exposure. Not a playlist add. Income.

Then tap their name and go through everything else they’ve made, because you probably just found somebody before everyone else did.

The app is not complicated. That’s on purpose. The part that matters is what happens on the artist’s end while you’re just listening like you always do.

Tragedy Khadafi, @tragedy252, is going to sit in a room with you and answer for all of it.

The documentary first. Then Tragedy live, taking questions - not a moderated panel, not a press junket. You, him, and whatever you’ve been wanting to ask since the beginning.

This is a Session. It happens once, live, inside Infanity. If you’re not in the app when it starts, you’re hearing about it secondhand.

Tragedy Khadafi, @tragedy252, is co-founder of Infanity. The same platform where a like or a comment from a fan is real income for the artist.

Date coming. Stay locked in.
