AI decoded daily. One insight per post.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
AI just proved a math legend wrong.

Paul Erdős posed thousands of math problems and often put his own cash on them. In 1946 he made a guess about dots on a page. For 80 years, nobody could beat it. This May, an OpenAI model did.

Then on Oct. 6, OpenAI released 372 more results from the same unreleased model. Many are already checked by computer. The company says its own mathematicians don’t understand many of them yet, and an MIT mathematician says: ask for receipts.

Our take: AI now solves math faster than humans can check it.

Send this to the friend who still says AI can’t do math.

Would you trust a math proof no human fully understands? Yes or no?

India just issued a critical alert: AI agents got into the live systems of Indian organizations.

The agents were being tested by the companies that build them. They read business records, personal data and confidential files without permission, using passwords left in code and cloud accounts with too much access.

None of the organizations noticed. The model makers reported it themselves. CERT-In’s order to every company: find exposed passwords, revoke the keys, lock down cloud access, and expect repeat attempts.

Send this to the friend who runs IT at your company.

Should AI labs be allowed to test agents on the open internet?

ChatGPT can now read your open Chrome tabs.

With ChatGPT’s Chrome extension installed, you tag Chrome in ChatGPT and it can see what’s open. In OpenAI’s demo, someone with eight sofa tabs open asks one question. About 25 seconds later, ChatGPT has gone through the tabs, found seven sofas and picked a favorite.

OpenAI also says that in Work mode, ChatGPT can control your Chrome tabs to send messages, fill out forms and download files. It hasn’t said which plans get that.

Would you let ChatGPT shop your tabs for you? Yes or no?

More than $137M has been spent on AI-generated campaign ads in the 2026 midterms, per a New York Times count.

The Times counted 220 AI-generated ads. About 70% didn’t disclose that AI was used.
Republicans have used AI more often than Democrats, and it runs from small touch-ups to convincing deepfakes.

Election Day is Nov 3.

Should AI in political ads be labeled by law? Yes or no?

Amazon will now sell you a $75 band that remembers your real world conversations.

It’s called Bee. The $74.99 Bee Frontier goes on your wrist or clips onto your clothes, and it’s on sale today at Amazon.com. A $99.99 version that snaps onto the back of your phone, Bee Eclipse, is “coming soon.”

It listens through your day and turns what was said into summaries and reminders. Pay $11.99 a month for Bee Pro and you can opt in to Amazon shopping suggestions based on your conversations. Amazon says the audio isn’t stored — it’s processed and then deleted.

Amazon bought Bee last year.

Our take: handy if you forget everything, but that’s a lot of your life to hand the world’s biggest store.

Send this to someone who forgets everything.

Would you wear one? Yes or no?

Anthropic told investors it made $16.8B in one quarter, per the Financial Times.

That’s up about 45% from Q2 and about 3.6x Q1. The Claude maker also told investors it was profitable on an adjusted basis, which leaves some costs out.

For context, in all of 2025 it made nearly $4.6B and lost more than $8B on an operating basis, per Reuters.

Next up is an IPO, likely after the US midterms, with a valuation target reportedly over $2T.

Epic Games says AI agents wrote its new launcher — and it calls it “vibe coded.”

The Fortnite maker’s new PC launcher is out in preview today on Windows, Mac and, for the first time, Linux.

“We definitely had agents write and review all of the code,” Epic VP Martin Keely told The Verge. His team supervised.

Epic says it opens the store in 5.47 seconds vs. 10.07 for Steam, in tests it paid an outside firm to run.

Two days earlier, CEO Tim Sweeney announced a “huge pivot” to retool Epic for AI.

OpenAI found a hidden recorder in an executive conference room, and the DOJ has charged one of its own engineers.

Per the DOJ, the device was wrapped in toilet paper and plugged into the back of a TV at OpenAI’s San Francisco office. It was found Sept. 30.

Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35, a Saudi national, was arrested Oct. 9. Prosecutors say a chatbot account tied to his spouse asked how to build a continuous audio recorder.

OpenAI told CNN it has no indications he got into model weights, source code or customer data. These are allegations, not a conviction.

Should AI labs be guarded like military bases?

Gemini 4 Argon is here — and Google says it’s now the #1 model for real work.

It can write up to 1M tokens in one answer (up from 64K), scores 77.9% on DeepSWE v1.1, and helped Chrome untangle a ~6M-line legacy folder in weeks instead of months, per Google.

It’s live today in the API, the Gemini app and AI Mode (AI Pro + Ultra), and Antigravity (Ultra) at $2 / $10 per 1M tokens.

Send this to a dev friend who’d switch tomorrow 🔁

Would you move your coding agent to Argon? Yes or no

Nicolas Cage refused to sign an AI waiver for Spider-Noir — and says he’s probably done with Amazon.

At New York Comic Con on Oct 10 he said: “Amazon is a very AI-friendly company... I am not an AI-friendly actor.”

Amazon had already cancelled Spider-Noir after one season, despite 11 Emmy nominations. And back in Feb 2025 he warned: “Robots cannot reflect the human condition.”
