I went to the premiere of Infertile, and I walked out genuinely scared...

The film looks at how the chemicals around us every day, in plastics, food and everyday products, may be affecting fertility. Things I'd never once thought about.

Five and a half years of IVF. Three clinics. Every test going. And nobody ever mentioned any of it to us 😳

I'm not a scientist (OBVS 😂) and I'm not telling anyone to throw out their kitchen...BUT I sat there thinking 'how much of this do people actually know?' Because I didn't, and I was in the middle of it.

If you've watched it, tell me how it left you feeling 🤝 If you haven't I highly recommend you do.

We still find it wild that this conversation, the work by @drshannahswan and the new documentary @infertiledocumentary by @edscottclarke is not a mainstream discussion considering the impact of peoples daily life! These stats do not get enough airtime “sperm count has dropped by roughly 50% over the last 40 years.” That’s not a typo, that’s the actual data. A huge piece of that story comes down to phthalates and the everyday plastics we’re all swimming in, and it’s exactly what Dr Shanna Swan has spent decades researching.

This new documentary @infertiledocumentary from Ed Scott-Clarke pulls a lot of this together, with Dr Shanna Swan and some of the scientists who first flagged endocrine-disrupting chemicals as a real threat to human health. This is the kind of hard watch that changes how you think about the plastic in your bathroom cabinet, your kitchen, your kid’s toothbrush.

This is exactly why we started @bambuubrush once @tommie.travels and @doitlikeduds saw the direct impact of plastic polllution on human lives across Asia! taken in London, United Kingdom by @infertiledocumentary

Some very exciting news for Infertile…

🏆 We’ve won an Award of Excellence – Special Mention at the @impactdocsawards

The Impact DOCS Awards recognise documentaries that shine a light on critical issues and have the potential to create meaningful change — so this feels particularly fitting for a film we made to bring greater attention to the relationship between our environment, endocrine-disrupting chemicals and human fertility.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Infertile, and especially to the scientists, doctors, campaigners and families who trusted us to tell their stories.

And there’s more good news to come…

Find out more about Infertile, and how to watch it, via the link in our bio.

Sweden is moving to restrict PFAS in everyday products — rather than waiting for wider EU action [source: Euronews 24 July 2026]

PFAS are just one family of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that are having an impact on our health and fertility.

In our film Infertile, we take a deep dive into these EDCs, where we’re exposed to them and what they mean for our reproductive health.

Find out how to watch Infertile now via the link in our bio.

“People are just choosing to have fewer children.”

It’s one of the most common explanations for falling birth rates.

But is it the whole story?

Infertile interviewee embryologist Lucy Lines explains the crucial difference between birth rates and fertility — and why scientists are becoming increasingly concerned about the latter.

Understanding that distinction changes the conversation.

Let us know: Had you ever thought about the difference between birth rates and fertility before?

Watch Infertile. Then talk about it.
https://www.infertiledocumentary.com/

Infertility is rising. Could the products we use every day be part of the reason?

Infertile is a confronting and important documentary that shines a light on a question more people need to be asking.

What if the chemicals woven into modern life, in plastics, food packaging, personal care products, cleaning products and household items, are affecting our hormones, our reproductive health and our fertility?

This documentary explores the growing concern around endocrine-disrupting chemicals and what their long-term impact may be on sperm health, egg quality, reproductive conditions, pregnancy and the health of future generations.

It does not offer fear for fear’s sake. It offers awareness.

And awareness matters.

Because once you begin to understand how deeply our environment may influence fertility, you start to see that this conversation is not only about infertility. It is about prevention, education, advocacy and making more informed choices for ourselves and our families.

This is a documentary for anyone trying to conceive, navigating fertility challenges, supporting someone they love, or simply wanting to better understand the world we are living in.

It may challenge you. It may frustrate you. But it will also open your eyes to a conversation that can no longer stay in the background.

If you watch one documentary that changes the way you think about fertility and the modern world, make it this one.

Watch Infertile. Then talk about it.

A few weeks back I was lucky enough to be at the London premiere of a cutting edge new documentary, Infertile. Its makers brought together fertility advocate Jonathan Luwagga and podcast hosts Toby Trice and Ian Stones to discuss the evidence on endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), drawing on experts including Professor Shanna Swan and Professor Richard Lea.

The part that mattered most to me: this isn’t just about female fertility. The film cites a fall in sperm counts of around 59% in under 40 years, and it’s still continuing. EDCs are one piece of that. It looks at how they can mimic or block hormones and affect sperm production and testicular development.

Around 1 in 6 people worldwide are affected by infertility. Required viewing for all and especially for anyone in the fertility field - or anyone who still thinks EDCs are fringe.

Here’s something that stuck with me. I started thinking about what decades of that exposure might add up to and that took me back to something I often return to in my work. A “normal” semen analysis today is measured against a lower bar than it was 40 years ago. Those reference values are just the bottom 5th centile of men who did go on to conceive. So “normal” just means “not in the worst 5% of already-fertile men.” A bit of a low bar. When a couple is told everything looks “fine,” there’s often plenty of room between “fine” and “optimised.” That’s where small changes can help.

My approach is always about what we CAN do, not what we can’t. EDC exposure is one modifiable factor. What’s in our kitchens, our bathroom cabinets, on our skin - and both partners can tackle it together.

EDCs aren’t the whole story, and no-one’s claiming they are, but I’m grateful to Escapade Productions for shining a light on a factor we can actually act on. I’ll be running a series on sperm health over the coming weeks: what the research says actually helps, for both partners. Follow along if it’s useful.

Have you seen Infertile yet? The link’s in my stories - come back and tell me how it landed. 👇

What does the number 2.1 have to do with our future? When we started making Infertile, one statistic changed everything.

In this first episode of our new series using excerpts from the filming of Infertile, including the interviews and scenes that did not make it into the final film, we explain why scientists around the world are paying close attention to declining fertility rates — and why they’re asking what might be driving them.

Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll take you behind the research featured in Infertile, with insights from leading scientists including Shanna Swan, Pete Myers, Ana Soto, Tyrone Hayes, Richard Lea and many more.

Watch the first episode and let us know: Have you heard of the replacement fertility rate before?

🚨 Sperm counts are falling. This documentary shows the science of why.

‘Infertile’ is a must-watch for all. Because if it’s effecting your fertility what else is it effecting?

This groundbreaking documentary dives deep into what I bang on about every day! 📣

‘Our global fertility crisis isn’t a personal failure. It’s an environmental one.’

The film takes us directly to the vineyards of Stellenbosch, where local communities are facing the brunt of hydrogen cyanamide—a highly toxic, carcinogenic chemical BANNED for use in the UK but aggressively exported to global farms. 🍇❌

Lowering the cocktail effect of multiple chemicals and pesticides is something I help you with in my book 360 Fertility with lots of removes and replaces that don’t cost a fortune.

Back at home, Prof. Richard Lea reveals that even our pet dogs are experiencing the exact same plummeting sperm counts as human men, simply because they SHARE our modern, chemical-laden households. 📉🐕

It’s easy to look at this data and feel totally overwhelmed. But you know me, I don’t do fear, I do empowerment. 🔋

You can’t change the world overnight. But you can change what comes into your home, onto your plate, and into your body. That’s where your fertility power lies. 🌿✨

👉 Head to my stories for the link to watch the documentary. Let me know what you think.
