🔥 IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO THE CITIZENS GOTHENBURG: MY SHOW HAS A BREAK. ❤️

🐝 To be a part of the Gothenburg Fringe Festival is amazing. I get to meet colleagues from all over the world, who perform in all kinds of imaginative ways.

🍒 And since the festival is curated in a way that most of the events are in the area around Järntorget (in the image), and there’s a café that’s a central hubb (Kaffe Kid) where the performers hang out (and where a lot of performances take place, including mine [tonight at 17:30]), I often bump into colleagues and get to have wonderful discussions.

🎺 It’s such great fun, and I learn a lot. Thank you so much to @gbgfringe for having me.

❤️ There's tons of wonderful stuff at the festival; I especially recommend the performances by: @inforthelonghall, @gabriela_flarys, and Los Monroe. by @info_comedy

🚊 GOTHENBURG! HERE I COME! ❤️ Warmly Welcome! ❤️

🔥 Very happy to be a part of the Gothenburg Fringe Festival.

📍 Monday 31 August, 18:00
📍 Thursday 3 September, 17:30
📍 Venue: Kaffe Kid, Värmlandsgatan 19

🚊 LEIPZIG–BERLIN. I LOST MY PHONE, a few hours before I was to depart to Berlin. I had lunch at a very nice tiny family-run Asian restaurant – suddenly I didn’t feel the phone in my back pocket.

📚 I presumed that I’d just forgotten it in the apartment; so, I continued my afternoon rituals: ice cream, antiquarian books (Leipzig is a book city), and a very nice double espresso in a non-profit café called Ocka.

But when I got back to the apartment, the phone wasn’t there.

🧩 I went through all my packed bags; I looked under all the furniture – but no phone. So I must’ve lost it on the way to the restaurant. So I walked that route; I looked on the ground, as well as on any kind of pedestal-like structure – where someone might have put a found phone. But no phone.

When I passed a little round square, where people played ping-pong, there was a concrete ridge – a sort of long bent pedestal – where someone COULD have put my phone. It was full of ping-pong bats and snacks, so, just in case, I asked the ping-pongers if they’d seen my phone.

They hadn’t, but a nice man asked for the number of my phone – he would call it, so we could hear it. But there was no sound.

As I continued to walk towards the Asian restaurant, suddenly a little girl on a scooter caught up with me, and said: “My grandfather says that your phone has been found, it’s a at the Café Ocka.” And indeed, there it was.

So I had actually lost the phone AFTER I thought I had lost it. And thus, I had ruled out Café Ocka as a possible place to search. So, a heartfelt thanks to the quick-thinking grandfather – and his quick-scootering granddaughter. ❤️

This only happened, because the kind of pants that I normally wear have been worn out – three pairs in quick succession; and because of the touring, I haven’t had time to get new ones.

I found a different kind of pants, under a pile of stuff, with no holes in them. And I like them. But they’ve got too much stretch, making things pop out of the pockets. (I’ve also lost several pens.)

From a travel technical perspective, it’s worth noting that the Leipzig train to Berlin was announced to be delayed for 8 minutes. But it actually left only 7 minutes late. by @info_comedy

🎤 HELLO BERLIN! The show tonight at @eeclectic_publishing is now sold out. 🥂

🔥 Thanks for the great interest – I hope to be performing in Berlin soon again. ❤️

📌 My next performance is in Copenhagen on the 3rd of June at @lygtenstation. 📌

Have a great weekend! by @info_comedy

🚆 COPENHAGEN–HAMBURG ALTONA–LEIPZIG. 📌 THE BEST WAY TO PACK, is of course not to pack at all. So, I try to keep most of my performance stuff in their bags, ready to go; like a doctor’s bag.

🏂 Lately, I’ve mostly performed without a microphone. It’s more difficult, since I’ve never had any proper voice-training. But it’s an interesting challenge. And I feel freer without a mic; I have more of a sense of being in the room WITH the audience.

🎤 But for Leipzig, I had been told that the space was too big to be ‘unplugged,’ and that I really needed a mic.

👜 So, I had to pack a mic, and a back-up (they often stop working, especially the good ones), a mic for my guitar, mic stands, a mixer to plug them into, the right kind of power supply for the mixer, and a lot of cables – to make the signals go out and in of the mixer. And then I had to figure out how and what to pack all that stuff into.

⏰ But that process, which normally would have been ultra-stressful, went surprisingly well, and I reached the 10:22 train from Copenhagen to Hamburg Altona with a healthy 15-minute margin.

🍽 This time I didn’t do a picnic. Having packed the microphones, I didn’t have time (or space) to pack food.

🌮 So in Altona, needing something to eat, and hungry for an ‘authentic experience,’ I had a Dürum at a kebab palace right outside the station. It was a bit of a let-down, and didn’t feel too ‘authentic.’ I’d forgotten, that it’s not enough to go to Germany to get a proper Dürum or Döner – you have to go to Kreuzberg (or somewhere else, that I don’t know of but that the reader might tell me [please do!]).

🍨 But then I rolled on to the dependable ice cream parlour Filippi (established in 1956). I had a Nussbecher, and – of course – a double espresso.

🐕 The train to Leipzig was comfortably almost empty. And in Leipzig I was met at the station by @l_l_lutz, one of my favourite people in the world – and his wonderful dog, Penny.

When I got to the performance space, after a bit of hesitation, I decided to perform without a microphone. I think it was a good choice.

🎵 In Leipzig, the black birds sing everywhere. Not only in the parks. Leipzig is known to be a very musical city. by @info_comedy

🎤 COPENHAGEN–ALTONA–HAMBURG–INNSBRUCK–VENICE. There’ve been COMPLAINTS after my Venice fashion post – that it was frivolous, and that there were no trains. And SUSPICIONS that I might have gone to Venice by plane.

🚆But I did take the train – the 10:22 from Copenhagen, since the Deutsche Bahn website (an essential tool) said that the 12:22 (with a healthy 150-minute margin for my Hamburg change) would be fully packed. But the 8:22 got cancelled, so the 10:22 became ultra-fully packed, and I was lucky to get a seat. As we left, the 8:22 was still standing still on the adjacent track.

🐝 I sat beside a lady from Wolfsburg, a former architect, who now works as a coach for small businesses and sells a health food product that’s changed her life. I forgot to ask what the product did; I should have.

🍍 For (to me) unknown reasons, the train only took us Hamburg Altona, where I found a bench in the sun far out on the platform, in a sort of universe of its own – and had a picnic. At home, I’d just started on a pineapple. So, I brought the remaining 80% along. But after my lunch, I couldn’t finish the pineapple – and had to give the last 15% to the Altona seagulls.

🍄 As I sat there, suddenly the 8:22 from Copenhagen pulled in; so the 8:22 it had driven right behind us! Completely empty!!

🍧 In the centre of Altona, I found a very nice 1950s Italian ice-cream parlour, where I had a Coppa Amarena (one can always eat ice-cream) and a splendid double espresso.

🐑 At Hamburg Hbf, the 19:19 night train to Innsbruck was delayed by almost two hours. But then I got a whole couchette compartment to myself, and in the morning we arrived right on time. It was sunny, and the Alps made me cry.

🏔 The 9:24 departure to Venice was 40 minutes late, but then in Venice – we arrived right on time, at 15:07

🎡 In Venice, the Austrian pavilion, by floholzinger, made a deep impression.

⛺ So did the Spanish, by @oriolvilanova. 50000 postcards bought in flee markets, in some sort of order. 🌍 All that visual and cultural information became overwhelming and sublime, but in a friendly way. And after the initial shock, I just wanted to keep on looking. 💥 by @info_comedy
