Enjoyed another @big_bike_film_night with @jasonfoxx24 last night. An inspiring selection of cycling related films. Even the prospect of viewing them had me out for a tentative ride, with my recovering shoulder holding up long enough to see me up the local fire road and back again. ☺️ by @infoxicated

I'd been really excited at the prospect of visiting Glentress, Laggan Wolftrax, and Glenlivet Bike Park in the space of 6 days recently.

Glentress was awesome but windy on the day. Laggan Wolftrax was incredible - just the best red climb and descent.

Sadly, my day would finish with a careless crash that left me with a separated shoulder, meaning I never made it to Glenlivet Bike Park and now I'll not be riding anything technical for a while.

I've been trying to keep my spirits up in the early stages of recovery, but it's hard not to question having a hobby that brings so much joy to me yet has the potential for such cruel outcomes when things go wrong.

An inspiring young rider I've known since he was barely in double digits recently suggested that when it comes to doing things that make us feel alive, we "do it regardless," and that made a whole lot of sense to me.

With that in mind, I'll be back throwing myself down mountains on my bike as soon as my shoulder is able. ☺️ by @infoxicated

I've used @dmrbikes pedals on my mountain bikes for pushing 30 years. First set on my Giant Granite from 1996, second set on my Giant ATX 1100 circa 2000, and the third pair I just bolted onto my Giant Trance. The design sure has evolved - the packaging too! 😅 by @infoxicated

Made the trip over to Carron Valley mountain bike trails to discover that they've changed things up considerably since the last time I was there. The tree felling has somehow made the views even more spectacular than I remember and the revamped Cannonball Run is still a kilometre of ear to ear grins! 😄 taken in Carron Valley Mountain Bike Trails by @infoxicated

Last Friday afternoon I learned the sad news that my downstairs neighbour had died suddenly. We weren't super close but we'd always chat in passing. He loved Porsches and owned a fine, classic example when I first moved here. His beautifully kept car was a frequent topic of conversation even after he reluctantly sold it, replacing it with one of their less attractive SUVs. Ever since, when I've seen an old Porsche it made me think of him, so I'll miss Mr T and our banter. taken in Helensburgh by @infoxicated

After a flurry of hard work to get his room decorated in time for his birthday, Jason has received most of his presents early this year and I'm sipping a much stronger variant of Highland Park than usual! I've lived in Helensburgh most of my life yet I'd never been to visit the iconic Hill House by Charles Rennie Mackintosh until today. Loved the vantage points the box walkway gives you. Well worth a visit. 😎 taken in The Hill House by @infoxicated

What a great day out on the Waverley and in Dunoon we had for my man Dean's birthday. Even the heavy showers couldn't dampen the spirits - can't wait to cruise down the Clyde again. 😎 by @infoxicated
