Alebrijes are brightly colored fantasy hybrid animals from Mexico. I love bright colors and enjoyed seeing ‘Fantastic Animals from Mexico’ in Discovery Green! I got to paint one too!

With Monday off due to Labor Day, we decided to go to Hot Springs, Arkansas. On Friday we drove to Nacogdoches, Texas. The next morning the clouds reflected beautifully in a puddle during sunrise (photo 1). We entered Arkansas in Texarkana (photo 2). The rest of the pictures were taken in Hot Springs, except for the last one - that is the courthouse in Marshall, Texas.
It was very hot, but still a fun road trip. Baloo like it too!

The partial lunar eclipse (96.4%) in Houston started off well! But of course for the first time in a long time the sky got cloudy… so it was impossible to capture the total event. (Which might have been a good thing because it already was past bedtime)

During our Ontario, Canada trip, we saw amazing landscapes: Flowerpot Island, Badlands and some waterfalls (although after visiting the Niagara falls first these seemed a little small). I also enjoyed seeing and taking pictures of butterflies, flowers and even some bigger animals!

The Niagara Waterfalls were the highlight of our trip. We stayed in Canada, but also took the time to walk the Rainbow Bridge and have a look from the US side.

Our Canada adventure started in Toronto with an amazing view of the city from the airplane (photo 3). I loved seeing and taking photos of the iconic CN tower by night and day. We also took the ferry over to the islands and it was lovely and green. We also saw quite a few ‘art-things’ which I liked too.

On my weekend visit to Denver, Nadya kept me active by bringing me to 3 State Parks! The first one was Golden Gate Canyon SP. Although we did not see a lot of wild life (it was pretty warm), we had a lovely hike. In the evening she brought me to Cherry Creek SP to see the prairie dogs. These little critters did not disappoint, and as as a bonus we heard and later saw two coyotes!
The next day I enjoyed the humming birds and different landscape of Castlewood Canyon SP.
The multicolored roses in the last photo were found close to where Nadya lives.

The Dutch Fanwalk was a lot of fun!! So much orange (Dutch Orange, but also Dynamo and Astro Orange 😃)
I loved seeing the “head-gear” (cannot call it hats) some wore and so many nationalities!
Of course the 5-1 was great too!

During the Easter weekend we drove to Marble Falls and stayed 2 nights. On the way we visited McKinney State Park and on the way back Muleshoe Bend Recreational Area where we saw beautiful blue bonnets. We also hiked in Inks Lake State Park and when we saw long horns we stopped for a quick photo!
