World Cup 2026 was a special one. Was still living on the island when the 3 week trek from LA to Ciudad de Mexico began, and it was a fun one! From one of the loudest stadiums I’ve been in for Iran New Zealand to a flight to Houston from San Diego for Portugal Congo, it started off with a bang! Scored some waves in Sayulita which helped cool down in the heat and Guadalajara was beautiful in so many ways. Only scratched the surface of CDMX but had a once in a lifetime experience there with Mexico’s knockout win over Ecuador electrifying the city! Final stop was Seattle where I got to relax and catch up an old friend. Overall some great memories and experiences. Until 2030! 🏆⚽️ by @inkabruce

Super late post here! Moved back to San Diego from Oahu mid July after a little over two years on the island. The island is an incredible place and I feel very lucky to have lived there and experienced the vibrant culture, especially surf wise! I met some awesome people, surfed some great waves, wiped out a bunch, and had a blast. Deciding to move back was difficult but I look forward to visiting the islands plenty in the future! Not really sure where to start with this one but finishing the Ironman 70.3 Hawaii was an incredible experience! It’s been over a decade since I completed an endurance event. I did the Malibu Olympic Tri 2014/2015 and two marathons in 2013/2014. That first Chicago Marathon showed me I’m built for endurance - I hadn’t done a training block but was fit from soccer/running and motivated by Finding Ultra, so I took my injured friend’s bib. Being able to run the whole way surprised me and showed me my knack for endurance sports. I followed the Ironman World Championships very closely those years; reading books of past races and watching the highlights of virtually every race available. So now that I live on Oahu I decided I had to give the 70.3 Hawaii a go.

It is a true blessing to have participated in this event! I’m incredibly grateful to have this experience and look forward to getting back into the sport and meeting more people in the community. A big mahalo to the organizers, supporters, and especially the volunteers!! And of course congrats to all the athletes and those who qualified for Kona!

Closed out 2025 with some heavy waves up north, heavy snowfall while visiting Chicago 🥶, and good times with friends near and far. This year was about a lot of positive growth, surfing a lot lol, and meeting new people along the way! Island life lately has been pretty fun. Had a really good time doing my first surf contest, The Duke’s Oceanfest. It’s cool to engage the surf community more and root for friends too! Got a cat which has been very eventful and rewarding. Caught a couple shows. And we had a really good swell roll through 😁 taken in Honolulu, Hawaii by @inkabruce

Amazing trip back home to Chicago! Had some good times with family and friends, did some yardwork, celebrated Liverpool winning the title, and got to watch the Cubs fly the W! Got in some poker on the way back too but the truly exciting thing is I finished this poker script. Now to see what I can make happen with it… taken in Chicago, Illinois by @inkabruce

Dad, It’s been quite the rollercoaster ride of emotions since you’ve moved on from this world. I’m just grateful that I was with mom those first few days and once Xandra was with us, it only helped even more. We’ve been able to stick together and lean on each other more than ever, you’d be proud and happy. Everything is still so fresh that it doesn’t even seem real at times. But thankfully we’re all doing well given the circumstances. Mom has been a great example with encouraging us to get up and back to our lives and to keep doing the things we love. You wouldn’t want us moping around she says, and I think she’s right, as usual haha. I’m just going to be grateful for every day I have here and keep working towards making you proud and carrying out your legacy. I love you forever 🙏🏾

Welcome to Oahu 😁

These first two weeks here have been a little bumpy and busy between frustrating Airbnb situations, car shipping delays, and starting work orientation right away. But none of it really matters when I’ve been able to witness pipeline and explore this incredible island. Learning more about the history of the island and its surf breaks has been fascinating and humbling. And it’s only just the beginning 😁 taken in North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii by @inkabruce
